Free Updated Crochet Velvet Scrunchies Pattern

- I came up with this updated crochet scrunchies pattern late last year when I discovered a new crochet technique where you double crochet two stitches at the SAME TIME! I have made some tweaks to the pattern and thought I should update the video to show you how I make these super fluffy velvet scrunchies.

Materials used:
Crochet Hook: US I9
Yarn: Velvet Yarn
Elastic Hair Tie
Scissors

I love your videos? Is the major difference between the first video and this updated one, the tying at the end to secure it?
I use a completely different stitch in the updated pattern. In the old pattern I used triple crochet and I find that over time the stitches losen up, this new stitch works up much nicer and the scrunchies holds up better after it's been used.

how do you tie the yarn to the hair tie? sorry I'm slow to these kind of things
I tie the yarn onto the hair tie when I start.
Some of my hair ties have come apart, any suggestions?
I always do a stretch test, some brand hair ties seem to be more prone to breaking than others. I started buying the Goody brand ones and haven’t had breaks. I just make sure to really stretch them before I make the scrunchie.
