I was not an MBBS student, but I studied one course at AIIMS and worked in one of the departments, I had an AIIMSONIAN card, still with me, and I never stayed in the Hostel. But I saw, very close, the life of the AIIMS student was amazing. There are, I think, 8 hostels, and there was an entry gate, and just near to it was the SBI ATM machine. There was a mini world inside the AIIMS hostel. They had everything they had, grocery shops, cobbler, computer shop, tailor shop, barber shop, general store, photostat shop, computer shops, gymnasium, swimming pool and there is a BB dixit Library which opened at 2 pm, and there is the big cafeteria. everything was very cheap there. The 7-8 hostel mess offered a variety of dishes at a very subsidized rate, and every Tuesday, they prepared oily stuffy, and on 2 nd floor, there is a South Indian mess that prepared dosa, idli at a very cheap price. AIIMS is one of the best institutions in terms of academics, research but the administration section was the worst. there was corruption and nepotism, scams in making the appointments, and the administration believed they are above the law. i heard many doctors( JR/SR ) and students have committed suicide due to work pressure. I watched a placebo movie. i think over the course of time, they have adopted transparency to build up the confidence level among the public
