I’ve been trying to give Monique grace when it comes to her and “Daddy “ because their in their words that’s it’s nothing wrong with a black man being at his women’s side and back 2 back fighting it out against the industry and Monique’s respect, but as a woman when it comes to something so delicate like my relationship with my child, step aside and have confidence in me as a mother. He could be mentally ill AND telling the truth. I do agree that everyone involved needs therapy. We dont even know if he is mentally ill. If that is the case, then that’s more of a reason for her try harder especially when she acknowledges she wasn’t there when he was younger. Her 3 other sons reap the benefits of her hard work more than her eldest. She is wrong. Especially letting that man who her eldest son calls Uncle Sid, speak for her in this matter.
Point is we aint never gonna know the whole story, and there are 3 sides to every story. Never mind the effect of how each individual's point of views affects how we absorb the story. Y’all forget that it was Shay Shay that asked the question about her relationship with her son. She spoke from heart and gave her perspective. She stated that she wasn’t a good mother. She has apologized and has done the best she could to be there for her son in the best way she knows how to. But out of respect to her son, when Shay Shay directed the question to her about their relationship, she should have respectively declined to answer that question out of present and privacy of their relationship since it is a ongoing healing process. I’ve been trying to give Monique grace when it comes to her and “Daddy “ because their in their words that’s it’s nothing wrong with a black man being at his women’s side and back 2 back fighting it out against the industry and Monique’s respect, but as a woman when it comes to something so delicate like my relationship with my child, step aside and have confidence in me as a mother. Even with me and my husband’s biological son we both give each other space to deal l with him individually and we know when it’s time to come together , it also can be very intimidating and draw attention away from the main issue. “Daddy” mentioned Monique’s THREE sons instead of saying her FOUR sons. I would feel hurt too if I wasn’t acknowledged. Which prompted her son to make the video. Yes,some things should be handled with a phone call. But neither Monique or “Daddy” did any of this via phone. I dislike they mentioned his mental illness. Two things can be true at the same time. He could be mentally ill AND telling the truth. I do agree that everyone involved needs therapy. Point is we aint never gonna know the whole story, and there are 3 sides to every story. Never mind the effect of how each individual's point of views affects how we absorb the story. I don't play with people's families. Let them find a way to heal together. Monique thinks that she is reaching out to her son the only way she knows how, her son is in his feelings. Y’all forget that it was Shay Shay that asked the question about her relationship with her son. She spoke from heart and gave her perspective. She stated that she wasn’t a good mother. She has apologized and has done the best she could to be there for her son in the best way she knows how to.
But out of respect to her son, when Shay Shay directed the question to her about their relationship, she should have respectively declined to answer that question out of present and privacy of their relationship since it is a ongoing healing process. And also because he’s not there to defend himself.
BUT, People have to understand that Monique’s son is pass the age of 30. So the dynamics between them two are different. She’s not dealing with a little boy. She’s dealing with a grown man who has yet to forgive his mother.
Her son is absolutely entitled to how he feels BUT, the fact that he’s painting her as a horrible mother when she has tried to be a mother is beyond me.
People are gonna disagree with what I’m about to say but her husband Sidney has the right to speak for her. She’s made claim that he is the king and head of the house. Nothing happens to her unless he is aware of it. Again, she’s not dealing with alittle boy, she’s dealing with a grown man. At this point, her husband needs to be by her side to mediate.
But at the end of the day, they are both wrong for for broadcasting their relationship. BOTH OF THEM.

Monique is the one who deserted her son. Just bec he's now an adult, doesn't erase the pain of his mother not wanting him or being in his life as a child. She has never tried to make amends to him, yet went on to have and nuture a new set of children. I can only imagine that if he does have mental issues, she bares some of the blame. She's waiting for the universe to fix it instead of her going to the source.

Our community believed all the lies that were created by the YTs, and he had his name cleared again and again, but our people did not let up. Oh I was there. I’ve been a huge fan since I was 10 and in 1987, when I wanna Dance was released, black radio did not play it. She was ridiculed mercilessly by our own. To be a fan and to be black was not seen as cool.. Janet occupied that space and was the one pointed to as the Black artist that Whitney wasn’t. It wasn’t a small, insignificant backlash against her… it was so large that Al sharpton was holding press conferences and picketing concerts calling her Whitey Houston.
So yes, it is somewhat irritating for those of us who’s love never waivered to see such an overwhelming number of black peoples acting as if they never felt any different.
