For future reference, when all but one musician or singer stop it is usually called a breakdown. So a guitar solo, a drum solo, or a singer going 'acapella' is still a breakdown.
Such a great love letter to music and its importance to both the artists and the fans, especially now. Absolutely, love this song and with things hopefully looking a bit brighter soon than the last two years it comes at a perfect time. If the audience doesnt join in on live shows during the last part with the whole "This is our church, You are my people. This is our church, This is our steeple, This is our church, You are my people"-part, i would be very surprised", its like its made for audience interaction.
This was the statement that got put out with the release of this song: "It stopped raining in my head today ... " The Steeple is a true reflection of what music means to me. During our time in purgatory, faced with an unknown future. I had to rediscover why I still loved music, why there was a hole without live shows, that could not be filled with anything else. Through writing this song, I found myself again, and was reminded of what is really important. This music is our life source, our survival tool, our communion, our sanctuary and our identity. I invite you to scream this anthem with me, and get transported back to the first time you were struck by the power of music. Redemption's here at last, back where it all began, in the place where god and the devil shake hands. ~~ Lzzy Hale
They announced the May 6th release of their 5th studio album "Back From the Dead" with the release of this single (I couldn't pre-order fast enough!). If you haven't listened to Back From the Dead yet, you are SERIOUSLY missing out!
Loved this reaction! This song grows on you every time you listen to it. It's a love song to the rock show and to live music as a whole. And yes there's a new album coming May 6th, plus Joe (guitarist) said on twitter that the video for The Steeple is being edited and should be out soon
Give a listen to 'Takes My Life' -- It's a track that they've only done live. The 'Bloody Tour Edition' video is a particularly good recording of it, with Lzzy hitting some batshit crazy vocals on it.
Check out all Halestorm reactions 😊 :
