    The whole album is classic. And one of the best things about it is the SOUND.
    It’s ridiculously well engineered and produced
    Oh, and that’s Steve Gadd on drums. He’s a legend

    So glad you're discovering Steely Dan, they're amazing and have a huge catalog. Suggestions: FM, Black Cow, Josie, Babylon Sister, Dr. Wu, Rikki Don't Lose That Number, Hey Nineteen, The Glamour Profession, Deacon Blues, Gaucho. That can get you started, they're all a 10/10!

    This is the Dan at their pinnacle. But as others have said, they don’t have a bad or even a mediocre song. They are ALL GOOD!
    If, like you say you really appreciate creativity then this band is worth your time.

    Steve Gadd , drummer for hire. toured live with Clapton, live off and on for 20 years when the impeccable Steve Jordan wasn't available...just 3 days ago David Gilmour, of Pink Floyd, released a new single " The Piper" and shucky ducky, who's in the drummer seat..Steve Gadd! ❤

    One of my favorite memories as a teen in '77 was listening to this album on my turntable while reading the liner notes and trying to listen to each instrument. I would listen to each song 8-10 times in row and become entranced. It was such a sweet time. May true music appreciation live forever.

    @michaelyork4554 3 месяца назад +4

    Actually Donald is contrasting the difference of the people "Up On The Hill" who disregard the masses, they act like they accept him, but they don't really know who he is. Aja is the name of
    a girl that a friend of his married. He also contrasts his interest in the Asian culture, and music, but the "dude ranch" reference portrays the rich Americans catering to the fascination that
    the Asians have for the wild west of early America. Donald, and Walter like to sarcastically put down the rich, and famous, even though they patronize their music, Donald, and Walter actually
    have contempt for them. They just wanted to give their musical genius to the masses.

    It's been said that Steely Dan is your favorite band's favorite band! Every song on this album is fire. Try "Deacon Blues" "Josie" "Black Cow"
    You'd dig "Kid Charlemagne" from The Royal Scam Album!!❤ Some of those songs have been sampled by very famous rappers. You've talked about good vibrations and good frequency in music, young man you have found THE band for that goal, they have abundant supply.

    Nice reaction! If you choose to react to Steely Dan’s amazing song “FM (No Static at All),” please be aware that there are two different “full-length” versions: The one with a running time around 4:50 ends with a guitar solo. Later, they replaced that ending with another saxophone solo (taken from another version that was instrumental), and that newer running time is 5:06. I highly recommend listening to both endings, as both of them are wonderful. I’d love to know if you prefer one over the other. I personally can’t choose.

    🤭😁 I can't believe how many times I was late paying Rent so I could get a 3 or 5 day Beacon Theater passes for AJA, Greatest Hits Night & whatever Album Night was left over. Pretzel Logic, Royal Scam, etc. 🤩 AJA & GHN always sold out first. No matter how many days they played it during the Month of their Beacon Residency. 🥰🐰

    It kills me when young people don't listen to the entire album ( not sure if you didn't ) . Another popular music rating channel is horrible at passing incredible songs because they only listen to single tracks and never get the flow of the album . I guess the computer KILLED music .... THANK GOD I was born in the 60's a teen in the 70's a young adult in the 80's and so on. Albums give you the whole thought and musical flow the artist is trying to relate . I love EVERYTHING from Buddy Holly and Patsy Cline ( I Fall to pieces is INCREDIBLE ) to Meshuggah and The DIstillers . Broaden you horizons and you will find musical TREASURE ! PK
