11/9. I LOVE THIS! WHAT UNBELIEVABLE BREATH CONTROL! EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE IS OUTSTANDING! THERE IS SOMETHING VERY HAUNTING ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE!
great playing, i went to the 2017 Edinburgh harmonica workshop, learned a lot but actually just want to hear Willy play in person, it was worth it, jimmyC
Lyrical. That’s the first word that come to mind when I hear Will’s playing. His harp playing sounds as close to voice singing as any instrument I can think of. Really f&cking great. Question: Will, are you doing circular breathing on that first looooong note?
hey WILL,,WHAT KEY BAND AND WHAT POS HARP,,MINE ALL BURIED IN THE VAN READY FOR GIG,,LOL awesome,,,,,,sure you aint got a mooncat stuck in there ,hahahahaha,,love it,,
Its heartwarming to see the recognition of one great harpist towards another. Two great harpmen, both down to earth fantastic human beings, and both the greatest inspiration to harmonica players of every level of skill throughout the harp world. Thanks both you guys for all the tips, lessons and fancy riffs you both share without the sleightest trace of coveting your gifts from others. All the best of wishes for both of your continued happiness and success.
Hi Will, I have been listening to this all day and have decided to try and get this down note for note. One question please? How did this solo evolve for you? is it a combination of your favourite licks in 3rd? It seems a very structured solo and I love your Vibrato. Any chance of doing a video explaning how you developed these solo ideas? This for me is up there with Paul Butterfields driftin and driftin solo. Fantastic how it ebbs and builds. What was the idea of 2nd at the end? Soz one more Q. Whats the song called as this is just your solo. Cheers in advance Russ
Cheers Russ. It's just improvising around the blues scale in 3rd and the dorian scale. And then switching harps and going to second position at the end, lots of wailing on draw 4 and 5. The song is called 3 hours past midnight, Danny Giles used to sing it in the middle of our set when he played guitar for me, so we never recorded it. I played it different every night. You'll find a similar approach to a solo on my slow blues Citalopram Blues, from the Raw Blues album.
Found the Lyrics. Origional By Johnny Guitar Watson. Well it's three hours past midnight And my baby is nowhere around Well It's three hours past midnight And my baby's no where around I listen hard to hear her footstep Yeah and I ain't even heard a sound Well I toss and tumble on my pillow And I just can't close my eyes Yes I tossed and tumbled on my pillow And I Just can't close my eyes And if she don't come back her pretty quick I swear I'm gonna lose my mind Yeah I want my baby And I want her by my side Yes I want my baby And I want her by my side And if she don't come back her pretty soon Yeah, I can't be satisfied
good blues will Wilde and the gang. blues, sometimes reveal away to release things we have in us that need to be released shared or communicated, I was wondering if will could play some ol' jeff Beck stuff ,with maybe a little Rod stewart.makes for a nice evening with the lady. some Romanceing and slow danceing. a Good combination or mixes make for a good evening the right timeing and what all you know.
el Man es estupendo hace arte con esa armónica, más siento que las canciones se saturan de armónica debería dejarle un chanse a los demás instrumentos de relucir en las canciones y no sólo el con solos de hasta 4 o 5 min.

Awesome! Do you tongue block or no?
Only occasionally
So do you tongue block and do continuous breathing I assume,..

Are you going from cross to 3rd when you switch harps there Will?
Other way around- it starts in 3rd then switches to cross at the end.
Ah yeah, thanks !
Bb ? Harp?
Great solo -reminiscent of Paul Butterfield in places
At times I thought that too. It had the same effect on me as Butterfield. Driftin' and Driftin'... :)
😎👌🏴
Phenomenal breath control, man can play the blues like he just picked 200 pounds of cotton and ain’t got paid. Go Will Go.
