is the same with "gay"

"gay" is the pronunciation for Taiwanese "fake" in other words, in hokkien. Hokkien is similar to Taiwanese. And they just meant fake in English translation. I speak English, mandarin and Taiwanese/hokkien. And that's what they meant.

They actually didn't say they hated gays--the subtitles in chinese read 'fake',not 'gay'--the English subtitles were wrong

It is alright for an artist to make a cover version of a popular song and it may be covered into another language. It's not like she's going off and saying it's her song and not giving credit to the original, she has given on her album. Show Lo's "The Dance Gate 精舞門" was a cover of Daniel Bedingfield's "James Dean (I Wanna Know)" . Many artists remake a song or simply do a cover. There's nothing wrong with it.

I don't know what they're thinking but I think they don't really hate gays. If they really did hate them, they (in this case only Xiao Zhu) would probably feel more reluctant to play one, and it's not the only time that they played gay. I don't believe they would play gay for several times if they were actually haters. Well those are my thoughts anyway.
