Im saltwater angler and the xrap is my fav lure,its very effective for GT ,gold spotted travelly, bonito and even groupers can smash the lure if you fishing rocky shallow waters.
I use this lure all the time in all different conditions for all species, caught a 13 lbs muskie, tons of walleye, bass and pike... Just about anything will hit it.. One of my personal favs
We use perch colour Xraps spring fishing in Georgian Bay Ontario. You have to slow it down as low as you can reel with a pause here and there. I've had Pike and Pickerel hammer these Xraps fishing this way.
I bought 6 rapalas. It's my addiction. The so called "best" ones didn't catch anything for me - they work best in the states or in Europe, but in BC, the Tail Dancer caught me 144 LARGE fish in 19 days camping! giant Cutthroat, giant rainbows, steelhead, giant northernpike minnow, Kokanee, Dolly Varden. The small fish like LM Bass (don't get larger than 8 inches here), Pumpkin seed crappies. don't count in the 144 fish. I was trolling & casting from my kayak :D I do not recommend it - please keep it a secret ;)
people I'm no salesman...after watching a few videos on the x-rap. I bought one. The silver 06 x-rap...Holy cow. I caught a 4lb bass and about 5 other bass and two huge bluegill
scott b not sure of all the differences but from watching a vid on the two before reading the comments, I did hear the x rap has a more extreme wobble so better for more active fish in warmer water maybe
1 thing I noticed about these rapala videos is that every time they show you the product, they never catch any fish then tell people to go buy the product......just show a reason to buy it

These work nice on smallmouth in cool spring and late fall waters.

Got a silver/red with black back and red teaser action is awesome haven't caught a fish yet but know I will soon
i love these things... bass and pike love em.. even crappie and sunfish hit these even if my lure is bigger than they are!

The only difference I've noticed is that the XR has a teaser tail and the husky jerk does not.
