Such a sweet song, how nice. Yet, with a note of quiet sadness to it, in typical Blackbriar fashion. Blackbriar can take the goth aesthetic to the beach, and make poetry in the process. In short: gothically beautiful! 🖤
The melancholy is conveyed 100% by Zora's vocals. But how... this level of nuances is insane.
Originally inspired by the series ''Poldark'', the song grew into having another story. It tells about a Victorian lady, dressed in a black mourning gown. She lost her love a long time ago and can't move on. One day, she decides to wear a day dress and spend the day with someone she has worm feelings for, in order to to see if there could be another future for her, only to realise eventually that her heart still belongs to the one she lost.
The artwork shows one of the ''Dark Euphony'' flying hourglasses, in which there is the lady, stuck in time, failing to open up again. It symbolises the worlds of night/day and death/life.

As a human being on earth these days, we will probably and unfortunately face or witness tortures, or rapes, or harassments, loss of loved ones, tragedies, natural disasters, wars, injuries, diseases, injustices, pain, terrorism, terrors or nightmares.
But... as a human being on earth these days, we can listen to Zora and Blackbriar.
So, ...it's worth it!
In my head at least, this is taking place in the head of the siren of Arms Of The Ocean. She's not driven by malice, but is supernaturally dissociated from reality.
This is what she believes is happening when she lures the sailor into the ocean's final embrace.
Of course this could also be one of the Until Eternity pair having a side fling because she hasn't found the fated partner yet.

Out of certainly more then 150 metal bands I know, I just had this rare thing with the band Yearning (less popular, more dark, especially in the lyrics). But Blackbriar has some 95% of their songs that hits me right in the middle of my heart. Yearning was more like 80%. (And also, Yearning definitely belongs to the past as their genius singer, founder, guitarist and lyricist passed away in 2010, where Blackbriar is the present!)

I was asleep and in my dreams, I dreamed with the song Stone Cold Body. Wake up, I watch a video on RUclips and the next one that appears to me is this video. I opened it without looking at the rest of the videos on the RUclips home page. Excellent as always. His songs are fabulous and listening to Zora is like listening to my own Selkie☺
I hope to meet the whole band someday, but economically it is not so easy to go to Europe for a Latin American like me. Greetings and hugs from Mexico, hopefully one day we can meet in person.

For those of you having trouble connecting to the lyrics try this. Watch the series Poldark. There is a point where Demelza and Hugh meet on a deserted beach and she gives him a day but is still in love with Ross even though their relationship is strained so she can't give him forever. Hugh was a poet with golden eyes. This song is just so beautifully written! Zora would make a great Demelza. 🌹❤

Or it can also tell the story of a woman trying to move on after losing her previous partner (presumably the partner died), she enters a new relationship but realises she's still in love with her departed partner even though she genuinely likes the person she started seeing.

In a world positively teeming with bands trying to be heard, it helps if you can be unique. Blackbriar is such a band. As soon as Zora Cock emits her first note, you know it's them. It's not so much the technical aspects of her voice, but that completely unique "lost child" whine that gets deep inside your mind and haunts it.
I just adore them and their Bothers Grimm folk-tale Gothic Symphonic Metal tunes. This glorious number is typical, dreamy, haunting, captivating. The production is excellent, the arrangements superb, the structure perfect. Wonderful. A must-own. My Score: Excellent 5*

My first thought for this song was that it was about a woman who cheated on her lover, but then realized that she doesn't love the person she cheated with. Truthfully, I like the idea of this being a sequel to "My Mortal Remains" much better.
I'm a big fan of this group's work, it's cool, such a voice and the sound of the song, it's just a pleasure to listen to, very cool ❤
