Gaw Damm DUDE!?? How do you get "TAH- ROW- AH" out of TARAWA!? Do you see AN " O" in there somewhere? Your pronunciations were so crappy, that I have no idea where you were talking about, and I'm familiar with the war!
Correction: I believe there is an error in the narrative At the 6:03 mark That states Admiral Yamamoto had "disregarded" the industrial capabilities of the United States. In fact the opposite was true. Yamamoto understood the industrial might of the United States. He had attended Harvard 1919-1921 and had served as Japan's Naval Attache in Washington, DC. Yamamoto on several occasions expressed his opinion that if Japan initiated the a war, they would have great success for the first 6 months to a year; But if the war went on beyond that he was not confident of the out come because the United States will mobilize all its resources against Japan. Here are examples: Yamomoto states in 1940 to Prime Minister, Fumimaro Konoye: “If we are ordered to do it, then I can guarantee to put up a tough fight for the first six months, but I have absolutely no confidence as to what would happen if it went on for two or three years.” Again in September 1941 he made a similar comment: "For a while we’ll have everything our own way, stretching out in every direction like an octopus spreading its tentacles. But it’ll last for a year and a half at the most." After the attack on Pearl Harbor he stated in a letter to a colleague: “Britain and America may have underestimated Japan somewhat, but from their point of view it’s like having one’s hand bitten rather badly by a dog one was feeding. It seems that America in particular is determined before long to embark on full-scale operations against Japan. The mindless rejoicing at home is really deplorable; it makes me fear that the first blow at Tokyo will make them wilt on the spot.” (Source : Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto Quotes | PearlHarbor.org )
I enjoy and appreciate these videos about World War II and the narration too. I suggest the narrator ordering the proper pronunciation of names and places such as Tarawa.
Not to beg on West Point because those guys know their game.., But there's something extra-cool about the guys who slugged thier way through the ranks, to the top!
I've always wondered why at Tarawa they didn't drop a few salvos of 16in on the reef and blow a few dozen holes the landing craft could pass through??? Edit to add: That landing craft coxswain might have been Eddie Albert (Actor Green Acres) since he was there and recounted saving several Marines during the landings. But I doubt most of you young whipper-snappers have no clue about Mr. Albert. Thanks for the video!!!
Great video overall. For the most part, the AI narration wasn't bad. The way "he" said dates was really strange, and his butchering of author James Michener's name made me cringe, but I've heard MUCH worse.

Too bad.
You'll be hearing AI more and more- even as you complain less and less.
Quality information but I find the robotic narration infuriating
Ĺĺ
The inablity of your AI voiceover to pronounce things correctly is too distracting to make this video worth watching
