This makes sense to me in my own experience. From my earliest remembering, I knew there was God. Living in a rural area, I played outside all day, every day and it was clear to little me that all this magnificent beauty was made by a higher power and I only heard His name in my home as something to be shunned, disbelieved or "hogwash". I knew in my heart differently, but it took years for me to understand that I not only had a path to walk to Him but how to walk that path. Grandma always had her bible and read it daily, but even she did not speak of Him to me. Still, I knew Him. I feel I've come a long way on that path but still have an incredible amount of ground to cover, yet He is right here with me. I don't know how He could have forgiven me for my ignorance and thus my behavior so much of my life, but I feel He can and does. I'm so thankful to our Holy Father. And I'm always hungry for his Word.

Please understand that his world WANTS you to feel, and not to know who you are. Knowledge permits stability, feelings are like the breeze. If we expect it not to hurt, we are fooling ourselves. If we seek pain to define the process, we are thought of as and seen to be fools. Part of Christ's lesson, and a narrow path.

My leap of faith has been more of a skipping, hopping, jumping, falling, crying, blaming- but always by grace getting back up, allowing God to dust me off and getting back to skipping, hopping, jumping.

"Sanctification is the process of becoming what you are." That is the wonderful and miraculous reality of God's grace. I think the sanctification process is what Christ referred to when He said to "work out your salvation through fear and trembling."

      @n.holt7 Год назад

@@allison1385In context working out your salvation is furthering the Gospel, that is, you take your own salvation and make it a light to others so that others may believe in the power of salvation and be saved. As for the fear and trembling part, I believe this deals with our humility and the seriousness of the matter of others' salvation. Think about it. If the president came to you and told you to do something, would you take it lightly? Or would you with humility obey him? Would you not consider the consequences of your disobedience, seeing he has power over your life? The same is true with God. God has power to give life and to take it, so it is best for us to obey Him with great respect and humility in light of this. Think also of a trained police dog. There is a certain fearful respect you have for these canines. Certainly, they are there for your safety and protection, but you know they could rip your throat out so you respect them and you don't cross the line. Same with God. Just look at Ananias and Sapphira and the many other examples of Scripture. God loves us and He wants what is best for us, but He will not hesitate to punish sin, even the believers so we obey Him with great humility and respect knowing that He is the Just Judge and the Defender of the weak. We dare not disobey Him for fear of the consequences.
See also 2 Corinthians 5 where Paul tells the Corinthians that He warns people because of the terror of God. The idea there is that there will be a judgement day for which all believers must own up to their actions and that day will be terrifying for those who have been disobedient. Imagine standing before God and Him asking "why didn't you share the Gospel with that person that I told you to share it with?" What would you say?

so i could extrapolate this out (be brought back into the family), to also show that this means to me that YHWH did not make a change between the old covenant and the new covenant. think of it as a lease; we broke the lease so we were evicted. now if we are to be brought back into "the family", YHWH's condo complex, we have to sign a new lease. the language in the lease hasn't changed, the condo accommodations haven't changed, the requirements to be brought into or back into the family haven't changed. we just have to renew our commitment to follow the "original" requirements of the lease.
if YHWH changes then we cannot bear HIS image. if HE changes or by deflection sends Yahshua to change the commands then we will have a difference of truth - which we currently have now. so if YHWH can change or HE can send Yahshua to change things for HIM, and we change our minds on a hourly/weekly basis, who and how is truth determined? simple = YHWH is always here. this is what is always required to come and be accepted into HIS family/house; to be sanctified, and then bear the family crest or image as referenced in this video. you cannot truly bear an image that is different based on the 33,000 different denominations. there is 1 true god, 1 true image, 1 true family, 1 true body, 1 true narrow gate, and 1 true covenant.

I’m surprised the term “justification” wasn’t explained. When you are saved, you are fully justified (made right) with God through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. That is the “already”. From that moment on you are undergoing the process of sanctification. Read Romans 7:14-25 to see how we are in the “not yet (glorified)” stage. Are we right with God? Yes. Are we fully glorified? Not until, as Dr. Heiser said, Jesus returns or we die.

You have perhaps the best way to think about ourselves, our purpose and our mission in life, and there is no coincidence that it aligns so well with what Donald Hoffman calls the Rendering Problem. I find the math that they make mysterious to be obvious from the Bible as a data structure. We are IMAGING (projecting our 3D optical/perceptual image onto a 2D quantum rendering grid) a mirror neuron model of perfection in thought and action individually, but collectively the math of compressed vector space calculation (Leibniz notation) makes a Many Worlds problem for modern physics; Sean Carroll had God shoved in his face the wrong way, and chose to RENDER himself as God in the Math, rather than IMAGE the knowledge of God the Math hints at relentlessly.
As your life's work shows, the Ancients had no such problem. Fractal geometry, dialectic and the Trinity really mean the same thing perceptually, and the trickle down to concepts is why you are so piercing on the NLP problems with understanding faith. RENDERING is the way they try to resolve the conscious world modeled differently by individuals, but still get to make deterministic predictions about the imaging of others. This culminates in General Relativity and the Summation Convention. As you so aptly suggest in The Unseen Realm work, Hollywood has become the Wisdom Programming wing of the modern economy, and our popular mythology. I just keep hacking at the Prime Number Tree in my Garden. Such a small axe. Maybe fire is better.

The hands and feet of Jesus. We were taught to “not do bad things” because they are simply “bad things”. With no explanation (at least many of us). This is a stupid and uncompelling reason. I thought they have a day once a year where they purged the temple with the blood of a sacrifice because of the sins and disobedience the Israelites called the Day of Atonement? To re-sanctify the temple because of their sin abounding?
And then the presence of God departs from the temple because they abandon the “process” and become idolatrous and sinful (I think it was in Ezekiel) Filling the temple with abominations and idols...making it no longer sanctified...so he leaves them. So if it can become defiled, and re-sanctified doesn’t that make it a process? And if it has to be perfect all the time why does the presence stay in the temple patiently for the sacrifices and leave once they fully abandon him?
Also, even if it is about theosis, can we achieve such a thing in these bodies? So then isn’t it a process? Since we haven’t been resurrected in our glorified bodies yet?

What is this "imaging" you speak of? I didn't see that word in The Word.

How could you possibly miss it?

@@TomLongusa Well, that certainly is correct, but there is an "ing" added to it that gives the word a somewhat different emphasis. A new and different "nuance." Mankind is made in God's image. Of course. If "imaging" refers to a believers growing more and more like Jesus, I'll buy it. (I'm a fuss budget about newly minted words.)

The Word was written in a world that didn't have The Rendering Problem; Imaging is the solution to it. See my comment above. Look at Donald Hoffman for a less subtle, and more academic approach at saying something similar. He is not a Christian, but a cognitive scientist and consciousness is what he is after. Get out of your Cave of Literalism, if you care for the light of the sun.

The Holy Spirit can be resisted, grieved and quenched (put out). We are sanctified by obeying the Holy Spirit. People can backslide into wilful sin, renounce their faith, or convert to another religion and lose their salvation as a result. We are not saved until redemption.

imaging simply mean we are at Christ image by is Spirit in us.If we are at is image it's because Christ is the image of the only God the Father (Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God the Father) because Jesus is this true God and eternal life (1John5:20) Only ONE Spirit !!! If you see Jesus you see the Father....in bodily form! Can we handle this true Jesus of Scripture or we prefer to follow the flesh ?

Sanctification is the same as holiness.... It means to set aside to separate from the norm.... God made His Sabbath Holy by setting it apart from the other six days of the week.... When God calls you out of the world, He sets you aside to not be like the world as you once were.... Now you are holy, you are set aside.... Nothing magic about it at all.... When He tells us to keep His Sabbath Day holy, He is telling us, we also must set that day aside.... We have to see ourselves as set aside for His purposes and live our lives in such a manner as He tells us to live.... No mystical aura about it at all.... That is nonsense....

@ Dr.Michael Heiser, C'mon man, you did it again! YAH isn't a "Sound Byte" and neither should you be. You attract my attention, then I'm forced to look for more.
Maybe that's the whole idea, but for the love of us... How about a minimum of 10 minutes of teaching or a little more huh?
Oh! Slowly but Surely. I'm beginning to understand how to work this Goo/You/Toob stuff.
I just gotta' click on the "SHOW MORE" part of the paragraph above ... How 'bout that : )
