  • The sixth and last in the series on the Cessna 172 Simulator, In this we get permission from ATC to take the Cessna out onto the runway. We are going to make a standard left traffic pattern and return to where we started. For those of you with charts, we are starting from General Aviation stand 15 at EGTE Exeter Airport in the south of England. The weather is wintery and cloud, but clear enough to take off and land using VFR (Visual Flight Rules). Included is ATC control and permissions. Enjoy! The video is 1080 HD and is free to download with no attribution necessary.

Father, Your oil pressure and engine temp is very low, and you need vac for the gyro, and the battery is not charging! Gota call that crazy mechanic of yours! Lol I love your channel! Looking forward to the next. :-)

I won't be able to make any more videos about the Cessna as I gave it away to a group of army and air cadets at a church in the south of England. Sorry :(

Nice work! Did you really complete it in only 3 weeks because I was that your first Cessna simulator building video was posted 3 weeks ago? That's really fast!

No, the Cessna was a project for Lent last year and took six weeks to build. Even after that I tweaked it here and there. The "build" video was completed about three weeks ago but this week has been taken up with producing the HOW-TO videos. I hope they are useful.

Very nice videos, what is the specs of your pc , just noticed sometimes the FPS seems a bit lagging.

Yes, that is an issue; I have an X99 board and processor and lots of RAM and more importantly, three great graphic cards. The drawback is that each graphic card is running three monitors each - that means there are a total of NINE monitors on this system, so yes, sometime the fps does drop to 12 or so in high scenery situations like airports. Most of the time I can manage 19 or 20 fps.

that explains it . Quite complex setup . Enjoy your flights and hopefully I'll get some uploaded soon myself.

@@FatherDaneHi. I am not sure I understand. This Cessna sim only has 3 screens as far as I can see. Were you talking about your 737 sim by mistake? This Cessna seems too laggy for my liking. 20fps should be minimum really, and 25-30fps would be ideal. It's a fantastic build though. Just perhaps let down by the computer that's running it all.

@@ksp1278 Yes, it is a bit low on the framerate. The P3D version was 4.5 which was not the best, but there was only one computer to run the three monitors, as well as power all the instruments. I also loaded ORBX into it which also takes up resources.

@@FatherDane Yes, I fully understand the struggle. I am building a sim with X Plane 11. 5 visuals screens, 2 touchscreens, 3 Saitek Radios, Honeycomb throttle and yoke
