This worked great on my 01 sonata. The compressor is higher up putting it almost right behind the frame. A 4” puller took off the pulley just right. Thanks for the video to walk through the steps
Which engine do you have? I’m trying to figure out what I need for the 3.5. All the pulley would go around at this point is the alternator. I don’t even know if it’s possible or I have to replace the clutch
Great video. (more lights would be nice but I get it). Now I am going to tackle my 2008 Elantra. The shop quoted my almost $2000 to replace the compressor, flush the system, and recharge the AC. Hopefully I can do it for under $100!
Please don't take offense. Why didn't you take the tire off and how in the world did you get so much clearance between the clutch and the chassis support beam next to the clutch? Thanks for your video.
I tried to find a 2007 AC Compessor for a Hunydai Tucson you have to take off the almost complete front end to get to it or drop the K Frame remove the bumper and ac condensor and Radiator just to get to it, so how can i find you repairing of a 2007 Hyundai Tucson a c compressor?
It looked like it was just pressed in and then they smacked the edge with a punch to flare it out and lock it in. I had to do a lot of hammering to get it out.
Don't hit new bearings with a hammer, use a shop press or similar. And always press on the correct ring (outer if pushing into a hole, inner if pushing onto a shaft)

Awesome! Thanks for watching!
I got the clutch off by using a c clamp. And I then by passed the compressor w a belt for the santa fe w/out a/c. At least the car runs great now!

I also have a video of me showing how to replace the compressor. You need to watch that. Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!

That was too long ago for me to remember and I don't have that car anymore. Sorry! Thanks for watching!
Justin Peters thanks
Thanks alot very informal video
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!
Why’d you replace the old ac compressor? I have a squeaky bearing. Hoping it’s an easy one.
Seals were leaking the refrigerant out

No clue
Was your Bering peened in place? I’m having trouble getting Bering out.

Ok same as mine, I might try to grind off the flared edge with I die grinder first
Can you replace the AC coil without removing the compressor? My car is 2009 sonata 2.4L
Sorry that this is so late, but I think that you can. Take off the clutch like Justin did, and I think that there are 2 or 3 bolts holding it on.
how do you take the coil out of this compressor? no rings. please help
I ran into the same problem. I tried to use a flywheel puller but didn't work. I took it to a mechanic and they just used a crowbar.
@@becausestuffbreaks but how is that fixed there? is it glued or what?
Just a compression fit from what I remember.
@@becausestuffbreaks i took it off with a bar, thank you.
@@becausestuffbreaks how easily should the clutch plate turn by hand? mine turns a bit heavily...is that normal or not?

No press and I was hitting the correct ring.
The whole process is much easier if you remove the front, passenger wheel.
Thanks for the info
"Refurbished". I don't think that they did much to it. Maybe just wiped it off with a rag.
