I have just watched this series from part 1 to part 15. One word comes mind... "Excellent ". This is not only a tale of love , it is also a study in history . As an American I had no idea of the struggles and intrigue involved in the Chinese culture during the time period . Thank you x 1000.

Actually I don't mind the ending at all. I'm glad all of them escaped and were happy. I rather let them end with smiles on their faces than to see one bleeding to death. It was really a beautiful series.

Why does it happen to most of the chinese shows
There's a lot there. They cut an entire 10 min scene where YaoHua hands over the keys and deed of the house to Yushen before leaving and Yushen jokes that he should stop buying houses for him (he also bought the house where Yushen was renting A ROOM and hired the ex owner as his housekeeper) and YaoHua tells him that when he comes to America, he will build a mansion for him.
Yushen was originally planning to stay because he is an important member of the party, but their honeymoon photos (yes it is HONEYMOON, it's shown... They don't bhave sex or anything but they do share a bed and a pillow... they even cut that part) come in just as he left so Yushen follows him to the station and says "I just wants to see that mansion" before climbing in.
These guys are sooo bad I never knew this
Mr. Liu's actor is really handsome I can't focus in his dialogue sometimes because I was just looking at his face ahahahaha. Overall this drama is good 🤧 if only they can end this the way the novel ends huhuh.

this series and Love is More Than a Word are very well done! great scenes, exquisite costumes and good actors! The producers go all oit. I love them. I hope there will be 2nd season. And hopefully more romantic scenes between Yan Zi Dong and Jiang Zi Le, so far their relationship seems too platonic.
I enjoyed this series so much! It was beautifly written. Characters were amazing, scenery was fantaatic and the storyline was top notch! Thank you to everyone involved. I will be rewatching again.

I am just after completing the series and I am glad I stuck around for it. Definitely a good drama and would recommend it.
This drama is sooooo different from the novel. Most of these things didn't happen in the novel. The drama is more action packed I found this to be so refreshing and definitely recommend this!

The wardrobe was especially amazing, from the modern to the traditional.
The videos posted for this series, thankfully had ENG SUB as the storyline plot was interesting as well.

There were so many competing factions that it was confusing at times trying to keep up - but that was what life was like in China during the Sino-Japanese War during the Chinese Republic. No one was safe from being imprisoned or tortured. The relationship between the two male characters worked well amongst the uncertainty of the times. Great story.
