there's something so inherently soul crushing about the pressure of content creating as an artist when it comes to quantity/quality, it can be so overwhelming if you let it creep in. For me it DID get to that point after many years of posting art content online and now I'm basically a recluse that doesn't post anywhere but I'm happier now (I'm not suggesting this of course, this is just where my art journey led me!). My point is, it's great you're prioritizing your art and self, you'll be happier overall :D and I do very much love your vlogs, they're so cozy, and we share a lot of the same hobbies. I appreciate that you share any of this with us at all, it's a ton of work!

I follow several art channels and they often only post shorts once a week and full tutorials once a month. Cheering you on! ❤

I've thought about starting a youtube but I'm scared of giving up art time. I have so much going on that I just don't think I could do all my responsibilities and art so I totally understand where you're coming from. Take care of yourself!

I'm a new to you subscriber and I like to think I choose to watch quality content so you do your videos on your schedule. Many of the weekly creators have pulled back to monthly with occasional extras so don't feel pressured to upload on a schedule. 😊

New viewer here! (I came from your Gansai paint video, don't worry haha) I'm a new grad in music and theater and I've been getting involved with my local arts scene, which has been great. It's also been a bit overwhelming to get started on my own business stuff and juggle that with everything else. It's reassuring to hear from you, someone who's more established, that it's a lot to handle and that I can make changes when it gets overwhelming.

I'm starting to learn that adaptability is the most important skill of a successful artist

Welcome to the life of a visual artist. A painting that takes three weeks that you should be able to do in three days? So familiar. It's the reality. Life throws a lot of hurdles in our path. Ugh!! 😅

Artists should be exempt from dishes and other boring things 😂

Thank you for your reflection. While YT can be a great source of wonderful inspiration and 'how to' and entertainment for the consumers, YT can be an insatiable beast for the creators.
It is encouraging to witness creators become wise and discerning. Keeping a healthy balance requires constant reflection and self awareness, adapting and sometimes even saying 'no'.
I am looking forward to seeing YT evolve with the input from people like you. Thanks a lot!

it's so understandable you'd rather spend more time focusing on your art rather than the editing/content part of it, can't wait to see the upcoming videos and I hope this new plan is more enjoyable for you!! also the camera quality looks so good

If there's something that art teaches us is you need to be patient ,calm, and to love what you're doing, that it can be presented in the best way possible such as paintings portraits etc...,i think we should learn that from art .for me you made the best decission ,i'll be waiting for you ❤

This is not a downer of a video at all! This is so wise thoughtful and it made me very happy to see that you are viewing everything so constructively (if that makes sense idk)

Have you considered going live some weeks instead of doing edited video?

your Art must come first. I don't even watch Videos as often as I use to I have a lot of real life art. I come and watch videos only about once or twice a month they have to be entertaining and worth my time. oh but I will say I do not like shorts videos I skep over them. its like tic toc or FB short videos just not for me. Any take care do what you need to do for your future.

Shorts aren't for everyone, i don't usually like them, but they're so easy and get a lot of views its worth it to me.
I don't mind a bit if you skip them ^w^

Just do things the way that works best for you. 🙂
But I won't watch your shorts. I don't watch ANYONE's shorts, no matter how much I like the maker.
