For what it's worth, I think this game mode makes relics a lot more valuable. You really reap the benefits of lift when there are essentially unlimited resources to feed it and especially when you can use the lift shaft to help you haul stuff up.
My two cents, but I think focusing on the big drillers and ignoring the other mobs hurt you. I was playing the another night, did the same thing, and had your result. The next time I cleared the other adds and took the big driller down last, only lost minimal health, especially since you have melee dmg reduction, its not as painful as you think.
The thing I noticed in my solo runs is that the cables/tendrils for the final relic generally are visible every 3 blocks. If you make sure to uncover those, you'll have a better sense of where the buttons (or vault) are instead of aimlessly digging in some direction because it seemed to be that way for the one cable thing you found.
I feel like you have to be more well rounded in this mode and get more defense. That reflect was pretty good. Great episode, was on the edge of my seat lol
Teleporter would greatly simplify this mode. Lift would be good, but you still have to get it to the lift, and it’s going to pile up and get in the way. Teleporter, dog out an iron deposit, drop it there, go find the next one, dig it out, go grab the porter, repeat.
You always poo-poo the laser sight, but then you frequently miss with your first shot when trying to hit flying enemies, meaning you take a lot of unnecessary hits; it's a very cheap upgrade and would prevent more damage than a cobalt recovers.
Mining down one tile with two spots in between doesn't really work since you don't see cobalt from the corner; doing that only reveals one tile for each tile mined, it's far less efficient than just mining a tunnel somewhere else.
The way you explained this gamemode just literally made it seem like the dumbest thing to play 🤣 DOUBLE RESOURCES?! Butttt it's basically the same cost since every cost is now double, so it's really just harder because you have to carry more! That sounds way less fun

Love your playstyle, but you need to retake math class :-) OnLy two? Well thats 50 percent more carry capacity. And think how much you would likea 50 pay raise ;-)

When everything costs 8, increasing from 4 to 6 does not significantly change his early game. At max, he only saves 1 trip by the time he gets his second upgrade.
I think this mod is dumb, its just made game dumb hard and nothing else, when other mods gamechanging and making game different with upsides and downsides

I think you are missing those single cobalt deposits by mining every 3 rows instead of every 2
Ye, he talked about how he thinks it's worth the tradeoff to occasionally miss a water or cobalt to mine faster (it's about 30% faster!)

Stun laser can shoot so far off the screen that it can keep hitting the distant drill fatties in between waves.

Yeah I can't wait to see him do prestige runs! Those have been my favorite so far. But yeah the runs are like 2-3 hours!

The relic only counts as 1 pickup even if it does already slow you down, so it’s more efficient to bring it back with resources
But nothing else matters when you get the relic, no need to bring other things up
