Regarding Sutton Foster's voice: I personally love her and think she's an amazing performer and super talented. And honestly, I really see your point about how her voice is a bit light for Gimme Gimmer considering how many other belters there are that could have fucking KILLED it. I think they cast her because while her voice isn't perfect for the role, it's still enough for the role PLUS her acting is wonderful and her dancing is spot. on. I think those were probably the things that added up to her being cast. I believe that all three major aspects of an actor's/actress's talents should be what determine their casting :) Love the content, keep it up!

My freshman musical back in high school 8 yrs ago and still my favorite show I’ve ever done! I was a stenographer/speed tapper and my chorus girl solo in Forget About the Boy, my fave song to perform, was “Viiiiiito Carbooooone!”. I LOVE the Gilbert and Sullivan influences in the patter stuff especially, this show is so freakin good and had such a solid cast (GAVIN CREEL!!). I would do this show again in a heartbeat in any role- can’t say that about many shows I’ve done.
I was in a production of this show in high school, I was in the ensemble & one of Muzzy’s bois, and to this day it’s one of the best shows I’ve been apart of.

I also LOVE the overture to this show. It's honestly one of my favorites. It really uses all the different themes to capture the magic and emotion of the show, and get you excited that what you're about to see is something truly spectacular.

Listen to Sister Act A Divine Comedy! My school did it last year, after two years of Disney shows. (This year we are doing another Disney rip me) it isn’t the best, but it’s a lot of fun!!
I was in Thoroughly Modern Millie a few years ago and this show never gets the credit it deserves. It's quite popular, but in my opinion it deserves far more than it already gets. It's one of the most energized, fun shows I've ever performed in and I just love it.
I LOVE TMM!! It's a modern throwback to traditional Broadway theatre. It has essence of Cole Porter, Leonard Bernstein, and George Gershwin, but very original. Nothing commercial about it. Speed Test is the best number in the show BY FAR!

i would die for this musical. it got me into musicals into the first place. sutton foster rekindled my love for theater and i couldn't be happier. forget about the boy made me feel better everytime i would get rejected and i can still sing all parts of speed test. i also love what do i need with love cause i just think it's kind of cute.

You should do a video about your favorite vocalists. TMM is really good to, it is a really good execution of what broadway should and does, stand for.
I love both songs! (Gimme Gimme and Forget about the boy) I'm fan of Sutton Foster, and I think that this musical is one of her best works ever.
Curious as to your thoughts comparing the stage musical to the original film (hard to beat Bea Lillie, after all). Also, how do you feel it stacks up against Sandy Wilson's THE BOYFRIEND or even some of the earliest musical such as VERY WARM FOR MAY?

Edit: I love Sutton Foster, but I watched this with Joanne Clifton (if your from England you’ve probably heard about her) and she was AMAZING. She was better than Sutton in my opinion 💕

I saw one of the first performances and it was when the tour opened in Wimbledon. The set was quite short. Throughout the show, set pieces wobbled, shook and almost fell and broke. People in the audience were talking to each other in the middle of the show about they thought the set would collapse as well. However, it's quite pretty and simple but it's such a same that when I saw it that it was dodgy.
You NEED to do a reaction to Kinky Boots!!! High key my favorite musical!!! But be warned that the soundtrack without seeing it doesn't even come close to giving the show enough justice...

I think you’d change your mind about Sutton Foster if you see her perform it live on the Rosie O’Donnell Show (Maybe). It’s on RUclips. I love the song, but when I listen to it on the cast album on Spotify it kind of sounds like she has a slight cold especially near the end. Her live performance is just POWER and emotion. She nails it in my opinion.
