This is a bug. Konami has already made an announcement regarding this issue & will be fixed in next update. You can check their announcement in game's inbox (currently confirmed issues 03/ 06/ 19)
The defending in this game is really bad..you will get frustrated... defenders dont stay in their position , they get draw out to the midfield easily and create space for opposition attacters..
