Thank you for this wonderful review Mark, long live your incredibly inspiring channel! For those who are interested, my channel features the previously unknown recordings on cassette and reel-to-reel I analyze in the book.
Looks an amazing book definitely be buying this, I wish someone would do something this in depth for Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac
Check out Schiffer Books' title about Fleetwood Mac!
Incredible book
Yes, I really enjoyed it. Big thumbs up.
Incredible video
Thanks friend
Really good review Mark, thanks! Love your breakdown of "STT" too! I've told you this before (may have even been on that video), but your tone is right on! Cheers! Matt
Thanks Matt. Much appreciated.
I was at the early evening Cream concert at the Royal Albert Hall in Nov 68. 4th row from the front - 7th seat in - right opposite Clapton. D.J. John Peel was the compere & we were treated to two supporting bands. Rory Gallagher (Taste) & Yes were on before cream. I have to say that the film release of this 'Farewell' concert is a real disaster & doesn't capture the sheer power & energy of Cream. They were an incredible band live.
Awesome to have that memory, Micky.
@@mybluesguitar Yes indeed ! One of the greatest memories I have. I remember passing through the crowd waiting to see the 2nd concert outside. Some guy asked me 'was it good' ? & I couldn't answer him through sheer adrenaline. Everyone knew, that the doors to heavy blues/ rock had been kicked open & Marshall stacks were now being loaded into vans all over the country. lol !
Great video I absolutely love this. I have read everything and watched every video of Clapton. I’ve been able to get my hands on it’s great to see such a huge fan like I am cheers from Tennessee bro I’m gonna order the book.
Its amazing that all these new facts and photo's are still being discovered!
Great video-I hadn’t heard of this book.Thank you!!
It's well worth getting if you are a fan of Cream and this period in music
Great channel, saw Cream in Chicago in the long demolished Coliseum Tve show channel me from a naive 15 year old kid to someone who wanted more than just what Madison Avenue was selling I still love Cream and always will…🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴
Great memory. Wish I had seen Cream back in the day. Just a bit too young. Not by much, though!

Purchased previously. The quality of this book is the most amazing. As a rare book professional I'm sure you would agree on the quality. As well as the content. Great that your highlighting this work.
The printings are limited.

Ordered the book. Love your channel - thank you!
Thanks so much, Tyler. I hope you enjoy your book.
Great review, Mark! Somehow this book had gone under my radar - definitely one to have 🙏
Well worth it, Derek.
Looks like I'm gonna be spending more money then. We've got the Goodbye Tour box set, now how about the Fillmore/Winterland box set? I'd rip someone's eyes out for that.
That would be great!
Please do a session on deserted cities of your heart. Please
I think it's on my to-do list, Vince.
Excellent I will buy this now,🇬🇧🏴
Very thorough, thanks!
Thanks Mike
Is the book good or does it read like "And then Clapton played a double stop phrase, and then Jack Bruce played a contrapuntal phrase while Ginger complimented them with an African rhythm on the tom toms." ?
It gives a really good account and feel for this specific time. How it all came together to create the great March '68 live recordings.
I never liked Clapton until I heard Cream. Thanks for the review.
A lot of people think his best days were '65-'70, with Cream bang in the middle.
So what guitar was Clapton playing live on "Crossroads"?
The SG
@@mybluesguitar That's what I thought.
MY BLUES GUITAR< Research because I heard Clapton used the Rangermaster treble booster and marshall JTM or bluesbreaker on the CREAM albums to get that woman tone when rolling back the SG tone pot control. You haven't made a video lesson about Cream Woman Tone licks or how to get that Woman tone.
There's a thought, Wayne. Thanks.

I live in the US and your Amazon affiliate link takes me to their UK website. Is there any way you could provide an affiliate link to the US point of purchase? I'd like to support the channel!
Hi @azbluesdog thanks so much for trying! I have just added a USA link to the description and I'll include it here... amzn.to/48FO3ab I have accounts for both amazon.com and amazon.co.uk. I have yet to earn a cent from either! Anyway, I do appreciate your support. Cheers, Mark
@@mybluesguitar thanks for the link! I just clicked and bought the book... my two cents!
Wasn't it Fillmore West?
Fillmore Auditorium is on 1805 Geary Blvd; Fillmore West used to be on 10 South Van Ness Ave.
Narrator says recorded at "Fillmore East". He's about 3,000 miles off!

No wonder mountain sounded like they did.
Not THAT Billy Stapleton, I hope.
The guitar shown at 7:10 is a replica.
That's the real Fool SG, minus the headstock, which is a replica. The book features also a recent photo by Peden of the original, damaged headstock.
