The Peace Corps is a part of the United States government. The same government that's responsible for many of the imperialist conflicts and wars across the world. It's also the same government that supplies weapons and funding to Israel as they continue their 76th year of colonialism in Palestine. How does this fit with being peaceful? There isn't anything to be excited about being associated with the Peace Corps as long as it has direct ties to the imperialist nation of the United States. It's a massive contradiction.
I doubt that you've watched this video. You're barking up the wrong tree. The Peace Corps is independent of the U.S. military, and it is nonpartisan. The Peace Corps only sends volunteers to countries and organizations that have requested volunteers, who live with local host families and work daily with local counterparts and other community members. Almost all the staff at the Peace Corps office in each country are hired locally. Peace Corps trainees and volunteers learn from host country nationals the local languages and cultures of the countries where they serve. Minds are opened, skills are learned, and lifelong friendships are formed. The Peace Corps lives up to its name, and it's possibly the one federal government agency you would have the least to complain about if you knew enough about it.
I am a proud American and returned RPCV and the only way to make our country better is to dive in and engage in making the changes necessary to make our government reflect our values of cooperation, kindness and persistent action for a better future.
Congratulations 🎊

Don't be silly. You are acting as if the government is a small family run business.
@@gailseatonhumbert What?? Ms. Gail Humbert, you make no sense.
@@El_Chunchoso I take it you will not be applying for the Peace Corps anytime soon? What a pity!
