love how in the early commercials they have mario stupidily get a concussion headbutting the blocks but in the newer ones they remember he punches the damn things...
lol to be fair, in the older 8-bit pixelated games, they didn't have the technical hardware at the time to show Mario properly punching the blocks so it did look like he was hitting his head on them, until around the time of Super Mario Word with more technical power and better 16-bit visuals to show he is punching them.
Yeah but the "oh yeah" just reminds me of Vector and now I can never unhear it. Its sounds lazy and half assed but its also hilarious af so I can't complain too much.
Little Goomba. Nintendo really wanted to go all out for their enemy names, with NoA in its infancy I assume. xD They had names like Little Goomba, Boo Diddly, which was for some odd reason was translated from "(closes translation) Chestnut Guy" and "Teresa Ghost" (Named after Mother Teresa.) Even Yugioh named a chestnut creature a Kuriboh. But I guess NoA wanted theirs to be a mushroom. They fixed that in Super Mario World, but it was too late by then. The chestnut "Goomba" had then went through a couple revisions. "Goombob" which was only referred to by name in a Mario Party game. And now, they finalized it to "Galoomba" and are a staple in many modern Mario games now.
The last commercial is absolutely excellent. Not only is it masterfully animated, but it also does a _really_ good job getting that "Mario Movie" feel. It's got that fluid animation, and that charm to it. Also it's pretty good at demonstrating Mario's acrobatic prowess
I agree, but you know Nintendo. They want to ensure Mario stays fresh, hence why when they let McDonald's use him for commercials, he has to be like in the newer, 3D games.
Highly doubt that's Chris. None of the adverts are allowed to use the actual VA's because they have far more important jobs than a singular line and a few sounds in a 15-second advert
