Great match. Both teams played with heart and skill, and should be very proud of their efforts. One HAS to be impressed by Nebraska and its FRESHMEN talent. To put 4-5 true freshmen out on the court at one time, and compete against a senior heavy Wisconsin team that is comprised of players who were the very best players on their previous teams before all joining at Wisconsin, is truly remarkable. The Huskers beat an ALL STAR senior heavy Badger team with mostly freshmen!!!! Kudos to Murray for her competitive spirit and always having confidence in her talent, talent that transcends her freshman status, and shined when the Huskers needed her most. Beason was solid once again, leading with 21 hard fought kills, and put up a solid block as well. Freshman setter Reilly, like Murray, fought through periods of rough setting, but like Murray, shined brightly when the Huskers were pinned against the wall facing defeat. Lots of grit, fighting spirit, teamwork, and belief in one another is what gave the Huskers the win tonight. Go Big Red!!!!!!
kudos to bergen for setting an almost flawless 5 set match. kudos to lexi and choboy for amazing defense and PERFECT serve receive. although messy, this was some of the most orchestrated volleyball played by nebraska all season. so happy for them. and ANDY always firing up the crowd when needed. this team is so so special

Oh them Wisconsin fans gone be really quiet about this! They were talking a lot these past few weeks leading up to it! But i expected a 5 set win from Nebraska at Home! I think it’ll be the other way at Wisconsin! But the fact that they won with that many attack errors speaks volumes! If they clean that up it’ll be hard to beat them! Overall I just enjoy good volleyball! Just realized without Lindsey Krause too 😅
Give some credit to the Badgers for the hitting errors, a lot of the Nebraska hitting faults were because they were trying to get around the Wisconsin block. But also Wisconsin didn't capitalize as much as they should have. Could probably have played more aggressive. Fantastic game regardless
Great effort by both teams. Nebraska showed a no quit attitude and Wisconsin showed when they are in rhythm , their blocking is dominant as they show cased it in the 2nd and 3rd sets . Nebraska broke a 12 match losing streak by Wisconsin and they will meet again in Madison and we can expect the same kind of effort by both teams.
This is the type of match that people pay big bucks for; and OMG, did they get their money's worth or what? RIGHT DOWN TO THE WIRE...14-14 in the 5th set...final decision: HUSKERS!!! The next match @Wisconsin is also going to be awesome as well. Who will win that nail-biter? Why, #1 Nebraska, I HOPE and PRAY!!!
The middle blocker, no. 9 on Wisconsin, hits the net as she lands. Its really obvious in the review angles, no idea why they didn't show it here as its not obvious from this angle.

You do know that Cook did coach the Badgers and left with some differences in the program and no National tittles Nebraska was and is one of the strongest if not the strongest program in the Country. with or without John Cook. When he retires I do not expect to see any drop off. When I first followed the Badgers, John Cook was the coach and Nebraska was a final four team. In fact when John Cook left the new coach Pete Waite took the badgers to the final game against Nebraska and John Cook, thus the rivalry began
They literally have 4 of 5 of their titles under John Cook so what's your point??? He made the husker program what it is today. Of course NEB would be fine without him. But no denying what he has done for this program.
@@oscorpio1365 I am not minimizing what he has done, but before you build a shrine , give credit to the entire Nebraska program which was an elite program when he came. He could not get the support he wanted at Wisconsin at that time and so he left. It takes a lot of things to make a program work
@jamescrane7034 of course and he does just that. He has been very vocal that Terry laid the foundation down for nebraska, and John Cook built upon that. Terry is literally the reason NEB has the volleyball crowds that it does today. Cook is very respectful of the coaches that came before. We thank Terry for starting it, and we thank John Cook for expanding on the legacy of Nebraska vball.
@@oscorpio1365 Ok, that is all I am saying, but I would also include people like the AD who kept the program going. Wisconsin is on he same path, but it has taken a lot of years. The big programs get the best players and that helps. Last year Wisconsin set a new attendance record by having the match at the Kohl center where they usually do not play. Nebraska the attendance leader responded by having an outdoor match which was very creative and brought attendance to new highs. It takes a concentrated effort to be a top program by a lot of people
I do see some comments about a young team which is great if you can keep it, but I think the portal changes everything about college sports and teams can change overnight now for any reason
True but John Cook is a legend no matter what and a hall of fame coach/catalyst for the game. Maybe my comments overboard but the university should really consider building a statue of the man when he hangs it up next to Osborne, how cool would that be.

Sometimes games have been decided on a final play penalty. I just hope they are called correctly. I slow motioned the video. The net clearly moved after the Wisconsin player touched the net coming down, so correct call.
It was a challenge by Nebraska. What do you want the refs to do? "Sorry, John Cook. We recognize that it is completely and entirely within your right to challenge this call, however we've spontaneously decided to change the rules of the game just because it's match point." Is that what they should've said?
Honestly, Wisconsin handed them that game. They could’ve won the last set if they would have just stayed out the net. And they could’ve won the 4th set of that didn’t just give them the game. It’s gonna be a different show at Wisconsin home tuff. Nebraska won but they didn’t win based on play level or skills they won because Wisconsin literally beat themselves. Period.
WI blocks: 18 NE blocks: 7 WI kills: 53 NE kills: 69 WI assists: 49 NE assists: 63 WI digs: 65 NE digs: 74 While Wisconsin had huge blocks and incredible kills, Nebraska were an error machine and they still won in the digging, kills, aces and assists stats. Wisconsin’s errors just came in, in the must unfortunate moments.
Should’ve, would’ve, could’ve. It’s always going to be the same thing no matter who wins. It was the same story when these teams played for the title. Don’t try to devalue the win just because you can’t handle the loss. Nebraska beat Wisconsin this time.
Nebraska has won 5 volleyball national titles, reached the semi finals ten other times, Wisconsin 1 national title. Most college teams haven't come close to that or ever been in the final four.
