So so true! I quit HR Training after 6 months, and I think my thoughts were partly to blame that I could not keep my HR down.

Other thing I found that having a glass of hibiscus tea stabilizes HR

I've recently (about two months) began running without music or podcasts, and I've realized while watching this that my HR has been easier to maintain during long and short runs. I'm going to test this and see if there's any correlation.

@@AverageRunningPT Just as I suspected, I ran a few times with music and listening to podcasts. I found that my HR was easier to maintain with music, but harder with a podcast. I tend to listen to music on shorter runs, and save the podcasts for the long run. I figure that I'm not really listening to the music as much as I listen to the podcast. I guess my brain is more engaged and requires more blood flow while concentrating on the conversation or story, where the music just becomes sort of white noise. I still do most of my runs now without music or podcasts, just listening to my breath and footsteps.
