    About the title, i'm not korean so idk exactly but from what i understood is that the word could be used in a negative way (different from in the song of course), and actually music shows didn't have a problem with it, but d&e themselves decided to not do them after they got complaints and were notified of the other uses of the word. That was all before the song even came out. They also released a lyric video with changed lyrics. A while later they did perform it at only one music show with the changed lyrics. I believe people and the fans loved the song when it came out anyway.
    Since it all happened right before the comeback though, they couldn't change the physical albums and other content.

      Yea I was reading that it is kinda like a less harsh way of saying "b!tch" but is also old-fashioned and considered demeaning to women. They of course didn't intend it that way but like you said, after seeing the backlash about it they pulled out of the music shows. I didn't know they still performed it later but I'm glad fans liked it because it was a good song!

    Super Junior has 6 sub-units. They actually pioneered officially debuting sub-units while the whole group is active. They are the first group ever that has a large number of members that’s why they started having sub-units. Each unit has a purpose and a concept.
    SJ-KRY vocal unit
    SJ-M Chinese/Mandarin unit
    SJ-T Trot unit
    SJ-H for Happy is the variety shows unit but mostly because the rest of the group was in China promoting as SJ-M
    SJ-D&E is the performance unit
    SJ-LSS which debuted last year was really just for funsies because the members are the only ones who didn’t have an active sub-unit except for one SJ member, Heechul, who has limits in performing. SJ-M, T & H are currently not active although SJ-M members who are still in the group released a reunion song recently under ODE Entertainment, D&E’s own entertainment company. Super Junior is a 19 year old group.
    As for the song title, the song was approved by music shows but D&E decided to pull out from the shows because of the controversy which was called out by the fans before the song was released. The Korean fans were trying to be proactive but after the song came out, most admittedly said they jumped the gun too soon and there was nothing to worry about when the lyrics of the song came out. Especially when the general public didn’t think there was anything wrong with the title and the song and a lot even thought it was cute. The word means young girl, a term of endearment, if you will, but has been used negatively by some, thus the negative connotation.

      @@JeffReacts12 Tbey definitely love to work and love what they’re doing. And yes, hopefully, they come to LA for Super Show 10. One of the members said they are so I’m very hopeful. I’d rather fly 6 hours from the east coast than the 12 to South Korea. Although Mexico and South America are viable options since they’re definitely going there.

      @myheart1214 good luck! I bet the tickets will sell out super quick like IU did. I haven't heard much IU but I wanted to see her since she's so famous. At least I've heard some SuJu now so I know I'd enjoy the show. Fingers crossed for us! I'm going to SK in about a month and a half so who knows...maybe I'll get lucky and see some groups doing events there too

    no one's answered yet, but this MV was filmed in Los Angeles. back in February 2024 when it's all rainy in California. you should watch the "ROSE" MV because they shot it in the house from the horror movie "ANNABELLE!" 😄

      I was on vacation in SF when they were in LA. so the urge to fly was so high. but they were so busy, they only filmed the MV and then flew back to KR after 4-5 days, I think. but Eunhyuk had time to go to a museum. 😆

    Thanks again for a great analysis and to JYKama for the request. Yep, that was Donghae, at least if was listening to correctly.
    I wish you had seen Rose first. As atheera said, it was the pre-release and the 2 MV's are beautifully related. I would have loved to see your analysis of them in order 🙂Rose has a very different vibe. For me, Rose represents them being more stuck in pain and anger, while in GGB they are eventually able to break through that and find some reconciliation (eg the alternate reality where they see the girl and hug), reminisce with fondness, grieve appropriately and face the future. I love both these songs and the lyrics are powerful. In particular, I found the MV's fascinating.

      Yea I haven't seen Rose and of course didn't know they were related but thats cool. The only time I remember doing a reaction to 2 vids that were related was way back close to when I started the channel...it was gidle with Allergy and Queencard. Mightve had one for New Jeans too...would've been cool but oh well.

      @hedleyhavoc 4 месяца назад +2

      @@JeffReacts12 Indeed - never mind, but I hope you get a chance to see Rose at some point. On the double reaction note though... I noticed you have Super Junior's This is love in your list, and it is also part of a 2 video series. Is there any way, I can make a request for you to do This is love and Evanesce (in that order) as a double when you get to that one? 🙂

    • @JeffReacts12
      @JeffReacts12  4 месяца назад

      @@hedleyhavoc I'm sure I will :) If not, I'll certainly at least get to see it at some point. As for the double request, unfortunately it wouldn't be fair to the people yours would be skipping. The only way I could do it and it still be fair would be if someone (you or anyone) sponsors the request closer to that point on the list and asks for that OR if someone sponsors both songs together. It's a cool idea to do them together but there's just too many other people that I have to be fair to as well :/ I guess there is one other option which would be if the person who requested This is Love agreed to bump theirs to the bottom and I add yours after that.
      Would you tentatively like to add Evanesce to the queue?

    • @hedleyhavoc
      @hedleyhavoc 3 месяца назад +1

      @@JeffReacts12 I don't want to be unfair to anyone, especially the person who already requested This is Love & has been waiting.
      If I sponsor the songs where do they go in the list? And I would do it as 2 songs through the paypal request? (Sorry, I'm new to all this)
      In the meantime, yes, please add Evanesce to the queue 🙂

    • @JeffReacts12
      @JeffReacts12  3 месяца назад

      @hedleyhavoc no worries :) as for your question, if you sponsor them, they go straight to the top (they would only be behind the ones requested on patreon and any other sponsored requests that came before yours. For example, right now I have 1 patreon song and 2 paypal sponsored songs that would be ahead) that being said, you could ask me for a specific place in the queue but most people that want a request and sponsor it want it as soon as possible. Noone has ever done it before but you technically can sponsor someone else's request if it's one you really want me to do sooner as well. Like in this case you could get that person's request moved up and your other video behind it.
      I get to any sponsored requests within 30 days. I squeeze requests in between videos I have planned to do :)

    The protests for the title was actually started from some fans in the fandom (which made the matter more frustrating tbh), knetz doesn't even aware that there's actually some people who got offended by the title, even they cannot believe that this even make news. When the song is released (moreover after Eunhyuk's appearance in Radio Star to explain about this title "controversy") knetz even flooding the comsec of the Official MV to support this song too.
    That word, like any other languages, have meaning that is always depending on the context, like a bad girl, some knetz said it was expression that commonly used in some areas in SK-in a dialect, etc. etc. the meaning can vary according to how you used it, the intention, and also the context behind it. Then again some people take it as offensive word bcs the meaning of it recently shift since the raise of feminism di SK (is what they said). But when you listen to the song, it's nowhere near derogatory like they (some fans) initially thought, it was just a cute, playful, and refreshing song. But yeah, even there's only one person getting offended it's still count. So it was a lesson learn for the fandom and also D&E and their management ofc, to always consider everything carefully and be more mindfull also for their future activity.

      @bleuberl I think people get offended over the most ridiculous things these days and honestly, most of the time they should have to just deal with it. I couldn't be an idol... aside from the looks, ethnicity, and lack of talent lol... because there's no way I'd be apologizing for all of the stupid stuff they apologize for these days. I'm glad they care for the fans but you can't make everyone happy all the time so if a small vocal minority are offended over something, let them be offended lol. That's not just for these guys that's for anything and anyone in life imo.
      Anyways, that's my own take lol. Thanks for watching and the info!

      @@JeffReacts12 Yeah it was just ridiculous and very frustrating that time. Even seeing that official apology letter was ridiculous too. Sometimes I just felt that some fans thought they entitle to them very much that they're crossing boundaries. Props to D&E for doing their best at hadling this matter, they even made and record another version of the song which more "acceptable" 🙄, but tbh I myself and most of people in the fandom still prefer the original version of the song, it's so catchy!
      Thanks for your reaction Jeff! ^^

      @@bleuberl Yes, this! Too many fans cross boundaries too often. Like that whole thing where Karina from Aespa starting dating a guy and 3 days later fans had bullied her and him to the point where they felt the need to break up and she wrote an apology to the fans. It made me so angry that she would even think she needed to apologize.
      I really liked this song...not sure how different the original was (or if this IS the original) but its a good, cute, refreshing, and fun song regardless. Thank you for watching and for your insight :)

    • @bleuberl
      @bleuberl 4 месяца назад +2

      @@JeffReacts12 Yes this one is the original. They released the "more appropriate" version shortly after in a lyrics video. They just omit the 지지배 part off the song (and also from the title, so now it's only GGB) and replacing it with another words that'd rhyme basically. So from then on they only using this GGB version for the concert, music broadcast, etc. It's a pity but it can't be help, that's why they promise us to quickly release a better album which schedule for this upcoming sept. Hopefully will be a fun comeback for us, D&E and also &(Annie), the fandom 😁
