Thank you for not showing the exact same thing as all the other Philly videos! Your walking around actually helped me see a little more of what to expect of the area. Thank you!
Hey Zach!! I from Philly born and raised, although I did live in Charlotte for a few years😊 Anywhoo I normally watch your cruise videos, but this popped up on my recommended. I did not know that that stautue was called the Washington monument. I'm 55 and when I was in elementary school we took several trips to old city/independence hall and a copy the declaration of independence was in Philly back then. I never knew it was moved. Looks like you enjoyed yourself 😊
My compliments on an excellent job getting through the city and seeing a lot of what there is to offer in Philadelphia.. I offer this praise, as someone who's been a tour guide in the city for over a dozen years. Hit me up before you come back in town and I'll be glad to show you a few of the things you missed. I have to ask if you would allow me to use some of the beautiful 4K footage you've shared here on my own channel. It is Philadelphia centric channel and still very small so I wouldn't be a competition for your audience and it would be my pleasure to thank and credit you in the description of any and every video, in which I sample your work. Yea or nay, you did a great job, you deserve to be proud, and thank you for showcasing my beloved hometown so expertly. 😁
Hi there - thank you for the nice comment. Glad you enjoyed the video. Feel free to use some of the footage but please attribute it to me in the description, that’s all I ask. I hope to visit Philly again soon as I really enjoyed my time there.
Check out spelling and pronunciation of Rodin as well. BTW, most of his work was in bronze, so many casts of each were made. (There are ~28 casts of The Thinker around the world.)
Great! I hope to be there for 3 days in April - so thanks for the heads-up on 'must see' places. (Being British I've been pronouncing Reading Market as 'Redding' - a town in England!
Came across this at random. After watching you, I decided to try to catch a train to Philadelphia. However, having a hard time finding a hotel within walking distance of the train station that does not have bad reviews. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks.
I'm glad I found this video! I visited Philly awhile back and it was nice to see some of the areas I never got to. I went to visit friends and they took us around. Sadly, I didn't get to see the prison. I know you edited out the times when you took breaks and got food, but in future "In a Day" videos, I'd love to see your top choices for a quick meal and a short rest stop! These are great for people interested in the top sites to see in any given place. Thanks for the shot of the Liberty Bell! That brings back memories. Dang I wish you'd gotten a Philly Steak Sandwich!
I’m from Phila originally. Now I live in Miami. Rotten house square is a nice area too as well as the antique markets. You should have gone in to the Rodin museum .
I wish if you can teach people how to travel and live cheaply, because for many, travel is very expensive and it doesnt have to be. Also take in mind safety, which should not be compromised. Details on cost of accomodation, car/vehicle cost, food and plane/train tickets would be greatly appreciated, and any advice on how to lower these costs to become quite affordavle without compromising on quality.
There's a lot of "in between" neighborhoods you wouldn't want to walk through if you're White. Some nice areas but they are generally surrounded by some not so very nice which are far larger and dangerous. I am from Philly area but not deluded as to its ups and downs. In the late 80's I had objects thrown at my vehicle as well as a myriad of racial slurs hurled my way on Stenton Ave for being White. Also, there are NO Norsemen in Norristown and absolutely NO Germans in Germantown. They are also places you'll probably want to avoid, as my brother was shot at in Germantown for his ethnicity.
@@ZachtheTravelingMan Thank you for your reply. I'm going to Philadelphia in a few weeks for the first time and your videos have been a massive help. 👍
I was in Philadelphia 2 months ago and think that one day there is enough. Once you've ticked off the historical points, you can leave the city again. It is extremely ugly, downtown is a kind of slum with 5 dollar stores, extremely strange even during the day, the people are unfriendly and I don't see any reason for any European tourist to stop here on their way from D.C. to New York.
So basically everything you can do in Philly which is nothing really. THere are no amusement parks there are no kind of rides anywhere. No water parks NOTHING!! 🤣🤣
Thank you for not showing the exact same thing as all the other Philly videos! Your walking around actually helped me see a little more of what to expect of the area. Thank you!
Philadelphia. The best place on earth.
Hi Zach, I'm Dennis Daniels from Cleveland, Ohio! Thanks for sharing your video about visiting Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
Looks like you had a remarkable day. I have truly been enjoying this series and thanks for sharing
Thank you so much for watching. I’m glad you’re enjoying! 🙏🏻

Hey Annette, thanks so much for watching! I enjoyed Philly so much. I’m a sucker for a historical site so I certainly wasn’t disappointed.
Excellent video! I love Philly! Used to travel there a lot on business. You. Brought back many good memories. Thank you
Thank you so much, Maria! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. 😊
YES LOVE PHILLY!!
You were right in front of my favourite bar!
I definitely want to visit Philly one day and head out to Amish country too.
the only place you can find them in philly is readding terminal market, they run a shop there, but they live 100 miles away in landcaster
Just pushed it up my bucket list. Thanks.
Visiting Philadelphia in May , thanks for this great video 😊

REDDING is how you pronounce Reading.

Im heading to Philly this summer, 3 nights should be long enough...
Thank you for sharing

You’re correct in your pronunciation. The market’s, and terminal’s, name are from the town in Pennsylvania also called Reading.
You're correct. It's named after Reading PA, which is named after Reading England.
Very nice place
I'm also doing Philly in a day so thank you for this!
Of course - thank you for watching!
@@ZachtheTravelingMan Zach is there anything you wanted to see but ran out of time?
I would’ve like to have seen more of the historical things around Independence Park.
@@ZachtheTravelingMan Thank you again!
YOU CANT POSSIBLY DO PHILLY IN A DAY. YOU WILL MISS ALMOST EVERYTHING!!
Heres how it sounds=
Skewkill expressway
Skewkill river etc.
Thank you!
The pieces at the Rodin are original. He made two castings. Both originals which also goes for the pieces actually in the Rodin museum.
I was watching another vlogger who seemed to live in that area. She showed a Burlington bridge in that same area.
Burlington Bristol bridge is 16 miles north of ben f bridge.
What a beautifully edited video wish it was longer! Don’t know if you take recommendations but I would love to see Boston next
Boston is definitely on the list! Nashville is next. Thank you so much for the nice comment. :)
Did you know that the oldest residential street is also in downtown Philly?
I did not know that! What a cool fact. 😎
AND "downtown" is called "Center City"
Gotcha.
Rodin museum is actually pronounced Rodan
Schuylkill is pronounced school-kill FYI. I am in love with your cruising blogs BTW. Have you done a Virgin Cruise yet?
Thank you so much! And I haven’t yet, but hope to someday soon.

Thank you Eve! I actually just grabbed something quick and sat inside a hotel lobby to relax for a while while it was raining. 😂

I will have to visit that next time! Thanks for the recommendation.
Dana Rittenhouse Square is a beautiful area. Why disrespect it with that spelling?
It was a misspelling I agree with you it’s very nice.
The first Continental Congress was not held in Independence Hall rather it was held in Carpenters Hall.
Nice vlog
Thank you 😊

Why don’t you make a video with all these details
Did you use the subway to get around or was this a walkable city? Thanks.

Center City Philadelphia is safe and very walkable. I live here and seldom need to use public transit.
we say it "Skool - Kill" river lol
skoolcool
Take a walk down Kensington……
great video but you need to invest in a gimbal to stop the camera shake
Hi, how long did it take to get to the Museum of Art and was it difficult to find? Thanks.
It was about a 20-30 minute walk from the train station. I used Apple Maps and found it very easily.

@@TomEaves437 Best time to visit is spring and summer.
And you showed City Hall without citing what it was: and largest occupied all stone building in the world
Thanks for the info.
Did you see the Betsy Ross home?
No, I must’ve missed that too!
Oops Rittenhouse square
So bring some popcorn a bullet proof SUV with tinted windows dim the lights and enjoy the show! 😁😙

Food is great in Philly. Just do your best watching out for the muggers and MURDERERS.
Keep your head on a swivel to keep from getting mugged or murdered. A once proud city in TOTAL DECLINE.
Not true
