    Thank you so much for changing and improving my view of the Endowment and temple experience from here on out. Thank you Brother Sweat for that beautiful explanation of the Endowment. I won’t see the temple the same anymore. I don’t think I will be sleepy anymore in the temple. I get it! Totally get it! Thank you. I think this is one of my very favorite episodes. Wow! I love it all.

    The story about seeing your seminary teacher and he expounds "The church is true!" is so awesome. And is so much more the experience that people actually have than the occasional judgemental person. May we all be examples of forgiveness who strive to overcome the examples of unrighteous judgement.

    As one who can rarely even get through a sacrament meeting, a hymn or even these podcasts without getting emotional (sometimes several times) I'm pleased to see others feel so deeply the things of God so embedded in their hearts.

    This episode is mind blowing! Thanks so much! I miss the temple. I’m in St. George, in assisted living! I use to work in the temple, and I miss institute too. I’ve taken classes since 1975, so these podcasts Mean so much! I remember seeing John Bytheway in Ogden in the early 1990s. I was impressed then and still am!

    Why do we apologize for being emotional! Please do not apologize for feeling the Spirit! It takes away from the rest of us feeling that same Spirit. Let's not give the impression that we are not supposed to feel emotion. I love to see and feel it. Thanks for your information and enthusiasm about our temple ordinances. I am going to be studying deeper.

      I was already emotional before he started tearing up. When his voice started quivering, I said, "there it is." I knew it was coming because I already felt it.

    I am so blessed to have followed your podcast since the beginning this year. I love your guests and what they say but I love how Tony Sweat brings the scriptures to life for me and what your podcast has done to help my study of the Doctrine and Covenants this year. I am so blessed. As Hank says, "This is my new favorite section!" Thank you!!!

    This episode ties right in with President Nelson’s comment; “I fear that too many of our brothers and sisters do NOT grasp the privileges that could be theirs.” Thank you Anthony Sweat for showing us what the real purpose of the temple endowment is all about.......receiving those privileges that we might NOT be accessing. I referenced President Nelson’s talk, MINISTERING WITH POWER AND AUTHORITY OF GOD in the April General Conference 2018. I LOVE YOUR PODCASTS!! I LOVE ALL OF YOU!!! I LOVE THIS PERFECTLY MARVELOUS GOSPEL! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    I am so moved by this podcast, and also so sorry that I didn't know about it until Dec. of 2022. My husband also, wants to thank you from the bottom of his heart. I have loved all of the podcasts while studying the Old Testament, and they have changed my feelings and attitudes toward that book, but this Podcast has changed my perception of the temple ordinances, which will change my live. Can't thank you enough.

    Thank you so much for your wonderful podcasts!! I listen every week. You and your fantastic guests have taught me much and also how to look at the scriptures more deeply. You bring the spirit into my home and heart. I am grateful for the temple insights Anthony Sweat shared , especially as I attended the temple yesterday for the first time since the pandemic ….and cried for joy. As a lifetime active member I still struggle with symbolism and seeing past the obvious. You are helping me to draw back that curtain a little.

I worry so much about my young boys, and admire you greatly, so hearing that story stopped me in my tracks and made my jaw drop. It reminded me to have faith and be of good cheer even though my 12yo can argue about anything until the cows come home, and my 9yo has no interest in the Church or being baptized. Zebedee Coltrin .... get the book entitled "The Savior in Kirtland" by Karl Anderson ... Zebedee is also buried in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery .... you can read about him and then visit him ... ZColtrin's story is an awesome story of faithfulness. He participated in all the wonderful events that took place leading up to the Kirtland temple dedication ... He was true to his testimony. He loved the prophet J. Smith, Jr. .....

    I know Sheri Dew cautioned against knowing just enough about the gospel to feel guilty, and I've learned so much listening to you three, but how do you not feel such guilt when you still struggle with understanding the temple? Is it the concept of we're all on the path but at different places and God won't condemn us just because we're not as far along as someone else; he just cares we're on the path and striving to progress?

    • @mascotbenches5146
      @mascotbenches5146 3 года назад

      I don't believe that God is eager to condemn us. Part of the revelation to Joseph Smith was the idea that the other religious groups of the day had twisted who God is. He sent his Son to heal us and guide us and not to simply set an unattainable measure to then use to condemn us. We need to repent, but also be happy in the place where we are at as we seek God and Christ. Hang in there. I love something a heard... if at the judgment I'm not surprised I'll be really surprised....I think meaning that God will be the one begging us to want to stay and not us.

    The Tower of Babel was not a temple. There was a temple nearby. The tower was an attempt to reach heaven. Like Ziggurats in the Near East, they also vied for God's attention by each city. Cities would be favored by God depending on how grand the ziggurat. They were also a way for God to "come down" for a visit. God did like the arrogance of the people building the Tower of Babel. He then confounded the language to multiple languages and scattered the people. The location is unknown, but some think the tower was in present day Iraq.
