well ever since the dubstep genre-catastrophe, dnb has become more defensive and "conservative". when dubstep was nothing but a new thing, that people were exploring, it split early on to create the original dark/deep dubstep and then the screechy dubstep we all know. genres weren't defined; "it's all just music" was in every comment section, and so rather than creating two new subgenres, the different dubstep directions were fighting just to be called "dubstep". this alienated and pushed away the original dubheads, it was difficult to find a similar sound, as everybody was doing something different and calling it dubstep... etc..
Nah it don’t……. It’s just there’s people from my generation who grew up with it from 94’ onwards and to this day live Eksman, Skibs, all the double time MC’s, jump up etc: ….. it’s the little Faggots who’ve caught onto the genre 20 years later who don’t get it

This elitist shit has plagued DnB forever. The last 20 years I've been around, people have endlessly bitched about reeee jump up bad, clownstep disgrace reeeee. Nobody cares. The irony is, tracks that got hate back then are classics now - watch the same happen with certain standouts from this new era. Nah I do understand some of the hate. Love all genres of dnb as most of you do as well. There is nothing I hate more on this earth than the high pitch wob jump up tracks. They all sound the same, which is an argument you can make for most of dnb and the subgenres but if you know you know. I would class it as more chav jump up. Every drop of a high pitch jump up track just has me imagining 12 year olds at the back of the bus throwing up gun fingers to it while blaring it through a sony ericsson walkman phone. You'll find me in the jungle room at a squat party. Jump up for me is like dubstep, either a banger or just another song that has wobs for the sake of wobs.
I can’t imagine why people hate on anything to do with edm. I’ve always been big into rap in every way but edm interests me as a producer because it’s just computer noise that sounds cool there’s no rules don’t gotta use certain sounds or tempos or instruments to stay in the genre it’s just bwow bwow do do do sing sing ding bow ding
Is it just me thinking the decks aren’t even turned on. I’m A DJ myself and with pretty much any professional pioneer controller or CDJ when you have the power on the jog wheels will light up and some you can see the bpm and the name of the track in the middle of it
The left one is definitely on, I can see the screen in the middle of the jog, the lights are illuminated on the right deck .. maybe turn your screen brightness up or something idk 🥱
What is it with this new style of D&B. Heavy D&B sounds good when the bass is produced nice. You get that rolling or hard hitting bass. Even jump up from mid 2010s had nice sounding bass. This really high pitched stuff is horrible to listen to 99% of the time. Sota is the only one to pull off this new sound in my opinion
Yeah so, Pendulum was doing this 20years ago basically
Pendulum were a bunch of pussies.
listened to them for years! good shit repping them
