Ok, look, it's looking like I'm gonna be "that guy", and I'm sorry about that. But this actually ruins things, I think. The snow effects, rain effects, lighting, shading, etc., just makes everything look more cinematic. The AI strips all that and just makes it look too realistic. I get that's what you're going for, but this kills the vibe.
no shit... Ai isnt even CLOSE to being decent looking, yet it advances really fast, look at this as a documenting of the Ai progress.
Ai has made it look like gopro footage without any cinematic colour grading or atmosphere...but, it has made it look real, it's barely a step behind what you're saying here though.
thats because the model is specifically trained on anything within the gameplay video. If this were running as a layer of DLSS then it could be fine tuned to what the actual game requires for the scene. right now it sucks light and shadow in most areas and completely invents its own lighting palette as well as light sources.

Artificial intelligence has become terrifying. Maybe one day they will come and make a full movie with artificial intelligence without the need for a director, artist, or a huge budget.
This will eventually be the case. And Ai will be in areas we can’t even image, I’ve seen concept where scientists wanna communicate with animals using ai as a translator
Yes there's nothing impossible now. We are only about 3 years in A.I tech yet the jump is too high

Unreals ceosaid UE6 will be here in 7 years and Jensen Huang, ceo of nvidia, said within 10 years ai will be generating graphics in realtime. So you wont have to wait that long. 6090-7090 will be all you need.
You would have to rebuild the game from the ground up to get those graphics. No matter how powerful a machine is, it cannot change the over textures of the game.

Despite the near photo realism the AI generates, I still prefer the look of the game. It's still very much in uncanny valley territory and has a long way to go

Sorry man. This is why it's unsure if AI will ever really take over creativity. Because look man, sometimes it's about the artistic vision of the creator. Not the accuracy, or even the realism that technology can reproduce. The actual game visuals look far more interesting. Like the scene where Konstantine and Trinity are closing in on Lara in the tomb... Just look at the armor. It looks far more generic and uninteresting than the artists renderings. Will give it that some of the snowy mountain scenes in the beginning looked ok. But overall, this looked pretty bland...

looks good but the AI do not implement any of the originals grading and lighting that is crucial for movie like atmosphere, it just make it look like shot with a camcorder.

Overall, the video is great! You used AI really well. I do have concerns about AI, like what Elon Musk has mentioned but focusing on your video you've done an amazing job. There are a few unrealistic shots but overall I must appreciate your work

To me, the only thing that looks more real is Lara. Maybe it's because the game's graphics are already so good. AI only has a clear effect in games like HalfLife.
you flick back-and-foward too much. not very pleasant to watch. just show the whole footage first, or add a small square of the original footage in the top left or right side of the screen.

Depends on the textures it chooses to map to.
Impressive, but still pretty obvious not real. Uncanny valley at least sometimes? Especially the environment. And for the environment I even prefer the more artistic original version over the documentary-style from the AI.
But Lara (or should I call her Emily from now on) is really impressive 🤔
If all games are realistic, they will lose their uniqueness.
Not all games are intended to be realistic, and these tests are not perfect, during the test part of the essence of the original game can be lost because currently there is no full control and the AI is far from interpreting the game faithfully, in the future all these games will be better and will adapt to every detail of the original game, if there is a storm, if there is certain lighting, if there are certain colors, etc...
In the future this tech will not be used like this (filtering an already made images,) but more on automatically make the textures and lighting. The direction and design of the visuals would still need human touch.
Think about live action movies. Basically all movies have realistic graphics, right?

Dan mejores resultados (más llamativos, aún con errores de interpretación de la IA por la escasez de polígonos) los juegos antiguos, al menos los del entorno de los 2000. ¿Qué tal una reinterpretación de unreal, trespasser o quake II? Por otro lado con lo vistosas y fotorrealistas que quedan las dinámicas del agua y la nieve, ¿qué tal se vería el mundo abierto de skyrim, con sus biomas?

It should be already possible in real-time. First you train NN on real-life contents that you are using in game, marked with render hints. The game renders not a real scene but "hints" layer. Than you run NN that transforms hints into actual image. I bet current NN processors can do that.
Current graphics pipeline is way to complicated but it is still incapable of rendering "photorealistic" image. The NN however is trained on photos completely, it doesn't have concept of photo vs render. Photo realism is the only thing it knows
To run AI a movie made on the source filmmaker game engine. It seems to me that it is already possible to make films like this.
