Alison, thank you for taking the time to share your lovely knitting. I aspire to one day knit something very colorful as you have. Until then I will stay knitting my “vanilla” socks, sweaters and hats. Greetings from Southern California USA.
This was a breathtaking 15 minutes. Really well done, thank you so much. It’s a clear lesson and demonstration of art, technique, pattern, color, concept, shape, direction - and all with such love. I like how you touch each garment, obviously thinking about its evocative memory.
@@AlisonRendall I’m also interested in your last name - I noticed it quite a while ago reading the Journals. Mine is similar (Randall) and I pronounce it similarly. I’m sure they are variations on a theme.
@@catnapper3923 That's interesting. I don't know much about the Rendall name except that there are not that many in Shetland but it is a common name in Orkney and it is also a place name in Orkney. I'm sure Randall will be a variation. We're maybe related!
Beautiful work! Every piece is stunning and very personal. Very much love the jumper connected with your grandmother. Is your work available to purchase at the moment before the shop opens?
Your work is beautiful. It was interesting to hear what inspired you to create different garments. It’s a wonderful thing to learn to knit in school. Some years I taught my students some basic knitting skills so that they could sit quietly and knit very simple things if they finished their lesson before the others. It really helped keep a quiet environment in the class, and they loved doing it, both boys and girls. Thank you so much for sharing your work with us.
Your comments remind me of my mother who loved to knit and made many jumpers, socks, mittens and a beautiful lace scarf. Another great lesson on color combinations and color work.
I'm just learning how to knit and I must say that I'm overwhelmed with the beauty you've created here. You are one EXTREMELY talented lady! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Oh My God! I’m in love 😍🥰 All your work is soo beautiful! Even the ones you call not good is extremely beautiful! And the designs, the details! Fantastic!❤

@@AlisonRendall I hope so; you’re one of my “knitting heroes.” I would certainly be lucky. Xx and Merry Christmas.
Stunning!! I love your use of red. I also appreciate that you wear your garments...function. artistry and beauty combined.
Thankyou so much. We do wear Shetland wool a lot because of our climate ~ I feel very cold without it!
@@AlisonRendall I live in Northern Ontario, Canada. Wool is essential here too!!
