In reference to the Hacker discussion at 8:25, you can argue that Hacker has skill because piloting any comp takes competency, but it's disingenuous to pretend like Hacker doesn't give lesser players higher placements because people have to build a board around Hacker, forcing them to play objectively weaker boards into every comp that isn't Hacker. If there are 8 players in the game still and 2 are running Hacker, you risk running into a Hacker player essentially every round and dropping ~10 HP. Or, you defend against the Hacker unit, making your board objectively worse against that Infiniteam Garen frontline, random high-roll Fiddle, or Star Guardian Neeko (and SG is the best comp in the game).
In a balanced game, Hacker would take the most skill because unlike other comps that just place their units on the board (and sometimes move their carries), then you have to effectively position the Hacker unit to win. Hacker isn't a balanced trait, though, and when paired when comps that can really abuse it (Gadgeteen Damage Reduction, LeBlanc bypassing "closest unit" coding with range), it's easy and almost correct to call it braindead.

Hi Mort, watched your vod today. I wanted to say I don't enjoy this set nearly as much as the previous 6 sets I played. Why do you think I'm either "fooling myself" or am "angry"? That's what you said on stream. I feel I'm entitled to like it the least.
I keep watching. You just called me (well not personally) also a negative nancy. What is with you, and not being able to accept people opinions can vary? Why do you make me feel like an idiot for not enjoying this set as much as previous sets? This is really so rude. (I'm older than you, by the way, I think you might be assuming all your viewers are kids, and it's ok to ramdomly insult people. I feel you're grow older and end up being embarrassed by all those insults you made online on record.)

What made it unskilled, Mort? I usually don't rant on YT, but the gaslighting of the devs on this set reached enormous levels. I'm a player on EUNE and I've been constantly getting challenger since set 6. The fact that a player could EASILY fast 9 after getting Leblanc/Gnar 2* was simply stupid. 3 costs should never have this type of power. Riddle me this one : I had a lvl 9 board, 7 infiniteam, 2x itemized 2* Ultimate Ezreals, 2x itemized infiniteam 2* Fiddlesticks and I went against a lvl 7 guy WITH GNAR 2. So, who do you think won and who do you think got eliminated that fight? That game literally made me quit this set and hope the next one will be better. So please, stop gaslighting players and please admit when you fuck up.
So you are saying a lvl 7 with 7 units (gnar 2 carry) won against 11 units? With 2 fiddlesticks? You should upload a clip because that, my friend, is unbelievable.

I have a couple of questions if you dont mind:
1. Was the gnar player playing hacker? because the chatter was saying that hacker was "unskilled" which imo is not true. Hacker is cringe, but not unskilled.
2. Were you against a 5 gadgeteen gnar comp or just 3? because there is no way you lose to a 3 gadgeteen gnar comp with your board. That would just be a position diff or something. 5 Gadgeteen is what's broken right now and not hacker because hacker no longer gives omnivamp to the rider and I believe they already changed the targeting of it.
3. Did you position well against the hacker? Cause the thing with infiniteam is that the portals are in a fixed spot and hacker gnar can easily just position into your portal and almost wipe out your backline. You can greed the backline portal or just flat out ditch it so that you can position your ultimate ezreal in a better spot to ult multiple times.
I too hate hacker as much as everyone else but to call it "unskilled" is pretty unreasonable. Mort was justified to ask as to why it was the case and to call out that chatter because technically, Mort knows the game as much as everyone else, if not more.
@@icecalambro this was the previous patch, before the hacker nerf. I think he had 5 gadgets and my Ez was on the right corner placed units so that the Ez double would get next to him. My point was that i had a fully capped 11 units board. And imo, i don't think it should be possible for a 2* 3 cost to win from that position. I'm sorry, but i just can't accept that
@@icecalambro and regarded to Mort knowing the game, I'm not questioning that. But with a team full of testers, because as he said, their team grew, and on top of that, having pbe for sample, i don't think things like this should slip on live and not be hotfixed
Who balances this game? Yesterday i rolled 300 gold at lvl 6 and couldn't hit ez 3. 😡 Only 6 were out of the pool.
Imagine having 300 gold and using it all to get ezreal 3 lmao
