Great introduction video about the Savage KLYM rifles.
I have two Impulse predators and have been asking several American stock manufacturers to make a CF stock for one of them without any luck.
Settled using a Boyd's thumbhole stock I modified to make it lighter.
With the amount of rifles being sold, It's sad that there are no American CF stock manufacturers out there willing to do the job for Savage.

The stock shown in the video is great. I tried it in a similar weapon (Steyr Gams) and I love it!

Savage, please support the impulse by releasing barrels and stocks!

Savage offers two versions of stocks for the impulse, you can get the standard or they’re partnered with MDT, if you don’t like either get something from Boyds, I could be wrong but any savage pre fit in the proper contour should fit the impulse just pull and swap anything with the same bolt face, if you need a new bolt face then that will likely require a new bolt.

@@CowboyHunterPodcast as far as I know, to get another stock for the impulse, I’d have to buy another impulse. MDT makes their stock exclusively for Savage and won’t sell to individuals (I’ve asked). The Impulse is it’s own unique design, and shares nothing with the 110 or the Axis. I’m all ears if you have some information I don’t, but I’ve looked everywhere, and no one but Boyd’s makes an aftermarket, and they will only pillar bed the front.

I really hope they do! But I won’t doubt it! That stock is so freakin ! sick! Been looking for a stock for my 7 prc ultralite! Still brand new! Just deciding on what to get! not a whole lot of good options! For savage aftermarket stocks!

Aside from the Savage Arms calling “cartridges” like 6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC, 7 mm PRC, .308 Win, 300 WM, 300 WSM, etc… calibers, this was an excellent overview of their two new models in their M110 and Impulse families.
I wish that I could afford one of the 110s in 7 mm PRC with their new SavageCan. 😎🇺🇸

Is there any way to adjust length of pull? I'm pretty tall and that is a feature on the accu stock I appreciate

How does the cf wrap on the barrel effect heat dissipation and the harmonics? I would expect this isn't an ideal platform if you want to sit at the range and compare ammo accuracy and effectiveness.

The claim is that they hold zero better than a pencil barrel since the carbon stays stiffer as it heats. They also claim that they cool faster than steel barrels. People like them and I haven’t heard of many issues. They’re definitely a hair lighter than thin barrels and are certainly known to be accurate.

Impulse KYLM and Mountain Hunter are ambidextrous. You can rotate the straight pull bolt to the opposite side of the gun for lefties. Safety of course is right on top. My wife and 2 daughters are left handed with another daughter who is right so it was a dream come true when Savage released the new straight pull action.

@@leylith believe what you want but I physically worked there. The barrel is aluminum with carbon fiber cerakote and the stock is plastic with carbon fiber dip coat. Even the website claims the barrel is stainless steel which is a lie, both the receiver and barrel are aluminum. I've built them myself, I know they aren't what the company claims them to be.
