Love the Wile E. Coyote cliffs. Haven't made it out to Hansen yet, but probably once the weather gets nicer. Been preoccupied with a fat quartz seams making themselves visible on my hill.
The logging company put in a new gate way down the mountain. Only claim owners will be granted access till they are done. It's about a 3 1/2 mile hike to the public area now. I don't think very many are willing to hike that far now.
Who can I ask for permission to go hit up the upper pits? Not looking to do any major collecting, just getting into it with my daughter/girlfriend. Used to do a lot of rockhounding as a kid in Norcal around Oroville. Went up the Hansen this week, road was closed and walked all the way up below the claim with the fam. Found a bunch of small stuff, nothing super spectacular, lots of fun tho. Would be willing to make a donation or offer a hand at the digging for some time to collect. Dabs for vugs? lol
@QuartzCowboy is the claim production a lot better than Butterfly? I think that's where I'm going next once they open the road. Is the whole mountainside claimed? I know it's Garden Slug and Banana Slug still active 42.5 acres total but I can't find a definitive map for the claim. Could I hike up top 1000 feet above the sign and dig?
@@Blinkurz You can legally dig on the outside of any of the claim signs. Last year just below the claim in the public area was going off. So many nice pieces came out. Butterfly is hit or miss.
@QuartzCowboy I should be able to go about halfway up humpback to get above the Banana Slug claim correct? Ever gone up there? Claim markers are 1000 feet from each other?
Yo man, how's wondering if you could take me up and do some crystal digging? When I come to Washington. I'm gonna be in Yakima for a couple of weeks. You might say no you might say yes Right now I'm dying of cancer and need some adventure in my life. Please hit me up
What a blast fam. Great day out there. Cool bird 🕊️.Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Thank you, have a great day! 🤘

@@QuartzCowboy Yeah I sure as hell ain't. I might throw that kinda effort at Index-Galina now that that's open, though.

We are looking into liability insurance so we can do paid digs. Probably after the logging company is done up here. A couple years from now.

@@Blinkurz I have explored up there, tons of rock outcrops, correct on the marker's
awesome...!!!

I bet feels nice be back there 👍
Teasing that bird with ur sandwich lol
This was filmed before winter. Just releasing a new video every two weeks through the winter.
Good idea 👍
@@QuartzCowboy
How much digging would you say would be involved to hit bedrock in the public dig area?
My guess is 15 to 20'
No bedrock, it's piled stuff from a 3000 ft face there, you gotta be up top by the face
Is this the old Banana Slug claim?
Yes it is
Dosent look like it got a lot of snow this winter👍
Cuz it was filmed before the snow, I have videos uploaded and releasing one every two weeks through the winter.
@@QuartzCowboy smart 👍
Is that the gate that's just beyond the shooting pit
That gate is the road above the public dig. The road that goes right to the claims.

We might be able to make that work.
