This ballet is Stravinsky at the height of his powers. In this as in Le Sacre, he creates theater never heard before--or since.
pleased to chare our fascinating culture with all of you, ladies and gentlemen
Метафизика Существует It is fascinating. Thank you. Sometimes puzzling.
Nijinska is brilliant
My ballet teacher was a student of Nijinska.
Superb music.
The Netherlands Dance Theater production I would say was more vibrant and imaginative but this is quite good for sure.
Not as clean as we're used to in the West but, musically, what a performance. Thanks for posting.
These are peasant dances which have a freedom to it; it is not a dance of balletic poses. I am not certain critiquing the Marinsky ballet makes much sense. American ballet came from Russian ballet. This ballet is more like modern dance in the feeling of it. I was captivated.
@@lindarichter1068sounds like a cope to me
@@lindarichter1068the ballet should be wilder and more superficially chaotic to really follow the nature of this music. I
0:40 Vulva and 0:49 Vulva with spread Labia ! Funny Idea from Nizinskaja !
how do you know this
Creo que es el ballet más difícil de contar de los que bailé
Agreed. Who decided this choreography is best seen from above as well?

A folk dance mixed with classical ballet?
Why not? The score draws heavily from folk music
The Royal Ballet dances this with much more attack and precision and enthusiasm. A very disappointing performance
It certainly seems a rather spiritless performance, not helped by school uniform costumes and odd addition of pointe work which seems out of place somehow.
I would love to see that. Is there a video or were you at a live performance?
This is not classical ballet.
+Fonseca429 Not classical but necessary!
+Aj Hartnell Maybe
I don't think it is meant to be classical.
@@christinebrady6611 I know.
You re right, it is better
