So just an fyi. I have an 81 I am currently bagging/body dropping. I bought a 93 Toyota truck front half of a frame from a wrecking yard. The uppers and lower control arms are identical. You can replace the uppers a arms, lower control arms, hubs from 84-95 Toyota and be able to use drop spindles. Something I had to find out by myself because absolutely no one could tell me if they were the same. I put the drive side on and left the passenger side on to pull measurements. They track the same. Nothing is different beside the hubs, balljoints style is different but still mount the same.
Great vid, boss. Appreciate that you are going trial and error just like the rest of us and passing on your learned knowledge. Just bought a ‘79, thinking about what I want to do with it.
I body dropped my cab because the hanger in the middle hits everything. I'm going to install some coil overs up front because the torsion springs are kinda saggy.
The lower strut rod offers very little caster adjustment. The camber is adjusted by adding or removing shims from the upper control arm. By running more or less spacer from the front of the control arm pivot you can make large caster adjustments there as well. I'd totally make a video on the topic if I had a truck at the house!
Sweet! Again, thanks for the time and dedication putting together these videos for us to learn and build confidence from. I see GA plates. Im in GA also! Let me know, we can make this video segment happen!
Lol I told him what it probably was, and that I didn't work on other people's cars. Then it turned into him being a jehova's witness trying to recruit your boy 😂
Working on your Toyota ute font end l own a Toyota 1997 Toyota Hilux also l live in Australia and l was interested in how the front end pulls apart my Hilux is exactly the same around the front probably the same chassis l don't think my Hilux would look good lowered l have the aluminium tray l leave it were it is and of course l have the famous 22R engine

Yea, used to be easier to find that kind of info on forums. But the internet these days is basically useless.
@@deathwobble that’s why as soon as I seen you were working on your suspension I’d let ya know brother.
@@edparker1972 are the torsion bar mounts the same as well? (the mounts towards the front) so much conflicting info.

That's awesome. Someday I want to body drop something!
@@deathwobble these trucks aren’t too hard to do. I made a video in my channel
I really appreciate all your vids!!! I have a 91, how do you adjust the camber and caster on these trucks?

I'd love to have some of the Toyota variants that were sold in Australia
@deathwobble In Australia we only got the 22R from about 1995 to 1997 but the 22RE engine came in the Toyota Corona Avante in the late 1980s
