The toolbar in Promethean ActivInspire can be customized to accommodate what you teach. It doesn't have to be as big as what is in the video. It can also be rolled up or rolled in to be out of your way. You can also shrink the size of the whole toolbar to your liking.
THREE QUESTIONS: 1) What projector works with a smart board - any? As in "just use whatever project I have or buy? 2) Are these board portable? Someone else asked that - I would need a board that is "only" used for travel - locally and possibly also go in cargo on a plane. How fragile are these - does it need a "hard case" for travel? 3) Looks like you are targeting "teaching elementary and high school, mostly." I'm teaching adult content / adults mostly (navigating healthcare delivery and support systems for aging parents or special needs siblings. ) Are any of the interactive software used having adult -type content - like PERT/ GANT charts, flow charts, graphing options or statistics, or like HR hierarchy type types, etc. - Related - does this work with a document camera, so a 3-D camera can project on to these boards and I can manipulate pieces in a 3-D presentation? Thanks.
Also, check out the Promethean ClassFlow software. www.touchboards.com/brands/promethean-classflow/ You can now collaborate with mobile devices in your classroom or anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection.
CLASS FLOW: I would use this - but you said you still have to "hook up" video conferencing to this? Can you explain more, please. It seems like Zoom already has this feature and Prometheus would not be needed at all (or ClassFlow). Can you explain the difference and the interaction? Thanks.

how good are these if used to occasionally watch movies? i was planning to buy a projector for office use but i just came across these smartboards. so don't know much about these.
I would call it a demo in bits and pieces, rather than a software review comparison!!!! Those who have seen/used both the products actively would understand what i meant.
This is a very average demonstration of SMART, and a terrible representation of the capacity of the SMART Hardware as well as the Notebook SW. It barely scratches the surface of Notebook's integration with other applications, it's ability to facilitate formative and summative assessment, game-based learning and all that it entails. I implore you to accurately represent the products if you are doing a "comparison", otherwise it is very clearly presented in a way that fits your agenda. Thanks.

i finally know what a smartboard is
Seems interactive display monitors without the need for projectors is the the way its all going now, much sharper image and without the shadowing

1) Yes any
2) Yes portable if you can carry
It is portable. You can set them up on "carts." You don't need a projector with a Promethean board. It is kinda the point.

Touchboards.com I see. Thanks for clarification.
Our county’s 2011 promethean boards are no better than the smart board
Promethean is very stick on hardware, For the software is very popular in China too. as we are the suppliers for them.
Prices??
My kid has been complaining about not being able to see, I can see why now...looks like you are not using the proper software for this
I guess computer screen can be controled remotely
Yes, interactive whiteboards allow you to control your PC directly from the board.

Compare it to the Sharp Aquo's board. Sharp is so much better
Nostalgic
