It’s so funny how everyone is marveled at the ‘low’ numbers.......your S3 made good numbers for a mustang dyno. It’s not a heartbreaker dyno it’s an accurate valid and reliable dyno. And the increases were decent as well. Man I remember when my beard was like that my wife hated it. I’m growing it again.
Would have liked to see a dyno run after the intake install, before the DSG or stage 1. Btw, that dyno run right after the stage 1 would be pointless. The ECU hasn’t had chance to adapt. It’s like if you replace the battery - emissions fail for a few days and it stinks of gas - it’s because the ECU is adapting. The same thing after a flash. Wait 48 hours with normal driving and check it then vs straight after the flashes. Surprised 034 didn’t bring this up.
Dude how is the audi sooooo clean, like aside from this beautiful dyno masterpiece, all I noticed was how glossy it looked. I'm so jealous haha, can you come detail my baby for me!!
Hey Blake, as usual, great video and relevant info. Being on a Mustang Dyno, your numbers are lower as I expected. Taking this in consideration to a DynoJet, I'll say most tunes on Stage 1 are not far off from one another. My JB4 with intake/exhaust spin the wheel at 292/331 which corrected, would be comparable to your figures.
sajsed2 I didn’t do a dyno as I just ordered the intake and installed it at home - March 2017 on my 2016 S3. To be honest, I did notice the car felt better, sounded better (I left that plate off) and ran cooler. Is holding up fine even now. Literally had to clean that filter once in almost 3 years. I’d say it’s worth it.
You forgot to mention the mustang dyno are rated to show u around 25% less horsepower It’s a know fact mustang dyno always read lower DynoJet read 15-20% higher So with mustang dyno u got 230HP x 0.25% ( that it read lower ) = 57.5Hp = 287.5Hp and stock audi rated at 290HP correct? So it’s pretty close to their stock dyno reading of the s3
Dyno a brake horsepower is different. A roll of thumb for all-wheel drive is subtract 20% of your engines horsepower to get your horsepower at the wheels
I'm a bit curious as to why yours stock numbers are so low you should be at about 270 whp stock and just over 300whp with a tune I've got a 2015 s3 and mine made 269whp bone stock an I went with apr stage 1 with apr carbon fiber intake haven't been on dyno yet with stage 1 must have been hot where you are
Awesome buddy as always! Stage 2 I'm guessing is a DP? I've never dealt with 034 Motorsports but they definitely make some quality parts! Looking forward to seeing what a custom tune will yield, hopefully more than my wrx🤣🤣🤣
Brian G, this car is turbocharged, no pulleys to swap like a supercharged car. Maybe your thinking of the b8/b8.5 S4. I have a '12 S4 stage 2, supercharger pulley, Borla, and intake. It should put down around 375 hp to the wheels.
crispsum Lol I know it's turbocharged, Blake said he's planning on a stage 2 in the future...a "DP" is an abbreviation for the word downpipe. I'm confused by your reply. Hope you have a great rest of your day ✌
I don't understand how the tcu tune resulted in an increase in torque or mid range HP. Can someone explain that? Never heard a tuner claim that a TCU tune could do that either. Usually it's stuff like optimized shift points, increased clamping pressure, adjustable launch control, etc.
I'm considering going straight to a stage 2 tune, have you had any reliability issues and is the power too much for a daily driver? if so I might just do a stage 1+
These numbers seem like quite a let down tbh. I have yet to drive an S3 or honestly any other Audi than my 034 stage 1+ B8 S4, but this seems like it's gonna be CONSIDERABLY slower than my current car. Can this tune be put on a smaller car, I want to buy a golf and I want to put some sort of tune on it to make a bit more power but obviously not too much because idk if it’s good for the engine, I might end up putting a tsi in it so then I could do stage 2 but for the time being what is possible with a stock 4 cylinder
Blake's Garage awesome, thanks I’m hoping I can get a tdi. 1 more question for you if I were to do the tune at home, do I have to pay for the software?
no, the premium plus 2017-20 has the analog "upgraded cluster", only the prestige and tech package has the digital cluster....many people like myself prefer the classy look of the S3 analog cluster
It’s amazing how much powetrain loss AWD and a dual clutch have. Those whp numbers mean it’s probably putting out 320 bhp. My golf has about the same whp, and it’s most likely 290-300 at the crank. But it’s manual and fwd, so minimal powertrain loss. Of course the dual clutch and awd translate into a faster car
Watch the whole video. If you don't know Dyno numbers are subjective then I don't know what to tell ya. It's all about the delta between stock and the new tune. Factory numbers are at the crank.
