Watching this took me back to my class 9th exams. I had a Hindi teacher just like this who seemed to dislike everyone. I remember struggling to make 2 plates with my hair, dealing with typhoid-induced hair fall. The whole exam was a challenge, and she didn't make it any easier. Convents can be tough.
So real, I studied in a convent school & back then there was corporal punishment practiced in schools, God I remember how my headmistress used to check nails with a wooden stick 😢
The best thing about plaiting the hair and tying it up like that was our whole school had girls with long hair upto the waist at least and longer . We have very fond memories of studying in a convent school .
Because they need to look at us ugly just just because no boys will see us and we can have no distraction and study this is the explanation they gave ❤🩹😭
No it's not judging, these are rules for school uniform, it takes care of hygiene, smart looks and makes sure students look and dress similar irrespective of differences in cultural and financial backgrounds, so that focus could be on education, personal development, personal hygiene and physical education. In schools boys and girls go through same standards apart from girls wearing a tunic vs boys wearing pants.
Victim card for no reason. I had to cut my hair short when I was in school too. In fact a lot of dudes had to. Being disciplined is not the same as being judged.
that is government school because literally they can tie they hair any way they like i go to a private school and i always tied my hair without folding the plaits and the teacher would always scold me but i would not listen.
I had studied in convent school and had kept boy cut for 14 years. The sisters were so done with me 😂 when they asked me to tie at the slightest growth I would trim it on the spot 😂😂😂

I was in a convent school from class nursery to class 1st Now finally I am out of that jail and I am studying in a private school GD Goenka Public School delhi Vasant Kunj My old convent school was “OLS”in Himachal kullu It’s full form is ‘Our Lady Of Snow School I was bullied in that convent school😢
I understand you I'm from Himachal and some of the catholic authorities here are very strict and slutshame and bully girls in schools and colleges. Glad you got out of here it's depressing.
Mate if you thought catholicism is a liberal form of life, then you are wrong @pagalaurat Actually if you go to a muslim school, you are expected to follow their rules. In a hindu school, their own rules. Just like that, follow your rules in your Catholic school too. Even in non convent school, such kind of rules are made. As a boy, we are allowed to have only 1 type of haircut in our school
I don't know why everyone's laughing and joking around that how traumatizing it was? In my pov, this is utterly DISGUSTING the way school used to (and still does) do freakin partiality towards girl's, and those teachers would literally embarrass the students just to satisfy their ego! For example, this video. They think (and say) we're trying to be supermodel's getting ready for Runways just by having our hair in normal ponytail or two platted braids. They would literally HUMILIATE the girl in front of other students by making them open their hairs and do it again all the while letting their mouth flows rivers of gutter to the girl They would literally bully tf Out of you JUST cuz you applied a lipbalm cuz ur damn lips crack, but no according to them we do it for attention! "Your skirt is too short" "Why aren't your hair's in a braid, this is school not a fashion show" "Why have you applied lip balm?, Come with me to the principles office" And we as a naive student do what we see! If a entire freaking nation would see all this toxicity for whole 12+ year's they would OBVIOUSLY think it's completely normal and okay to do that, so the moment the grow up and see someone wearing makeup/revealing clothes/ or talking to boys then they say, she's basically an attention wh*re! Why? Cuz They've SAW their elders do it! No wonder why Indian students get tf Outta their country to get education the moment they finish their 12th! Goodness there's so much i wanna say... deeply wishing for a miracle to happen to this country! 💔

Yeah I studied in both kannada and English medium in both schools teachers used to tell me to tie my hair it was below my ear how can plait or pony . They never understand.
I wasn't part of any Convent school, but my class teacher did this to me in my 9th grade. She asked me to plait it and I obviously didn't know how to do it, she asked me to bring the ribbons the next day and said she would plait it herself. I was a stubborn and troublesome kid, got the ribbons the next day, and handed it over to the teacher. So, then teacher who's pissed now tried to put ribbons on my hair in the middle of the class, so while she managed to put one plait up, and started doing the second one, the first one immediately fell off and she struggled to keep the second one. After that long 15 mins drama and horrible plaits, I walked back to my desk just to see both the plaits falling apart and the whole class laughing 😂😂including myself. And after that, never again, I put any plaits on my hair. 😂
Woah!! Girl, faced the same issue recently....and my tecaher was so stubborn that she even tied bunch of plastic rubbers to put my braids up becoz ribbons weren't enough💀 still she failed🤡....yrrr kya milta h chotti uppar krne se?! As if ki chotiyaan humare haath pakad lengi aur hume padhne nhi dengi 🙄😑
Convent schools are not less than any jail. I still remember that girl with the client hair and that to short like shoulder length. Her hairs were very thick and she used to take an hour doing her hairs only.
I used to have a history teacher and for some unknown reason she keeps humiliating me. She would passed me the most racists comments and also hit me with an iron ruler 📏 And it went on and on till I started to think of taking my own life. But I would always hold back when I see my parents. It’s been more than 10 years I have forgiven her silently but there are still some things I can’t recover from. She works as a principal in some school now. I pray that her students are treated well.
Sooo true soo relatable....where all children from the other school go with desirable hairstyles curly and rolls etc we do not do anything.......if we are not tieing the ribbon know it is like a big acuse and but still with so much love, discipline ,the attitude and the English accent everything are like adorable......❤
We had a principal in our school one time... She had all the girls tie and fold their hair up till it doesn't touch our shoulders... It was an absolute nightmare for long haired girls and girls with layered cut... It was a hell of inconvenience since the strands would irritate the ears and neck (it wasn't a convent school...) While she would come to school with open flying around crazy hair and bright lipsticks... I still think she was jello over long hairs since she had crazy frizzy just below shoulder hair... It was such a relief when she transferred... The very next day everyone reverted back to normal braids
My friend who had migraine used to get headache from wearing hair bands(migraine can be triggered by a lot of unexpected stuffs) and she told our headmistress to consider that(literally on our final months of school) sister said the migraine is your problem not mine you have to wear one no matter what🤡👍
*I need to point a few things here* The issue of convent teachers in India prescribing specific dress codes and hairstyles for girls can be perceived as potentially exploitative due to its implications on individual freedoms and rights. Such directives might be seen as a form of social control, infringing upon the personal autonomy of students. In democratic societies, the right to individual expression is valued, and any imposition on personal appearance can be interpreted as a restriction on these fundamental liberties. This raises questions about the balance between maintaining order within educational institutions and respecting the rights of students as citizens in a democratic framework. The Indian Constitution guarantees certain fundamental rights to its citizens, and issues related to dress codes and personal appearance in educational institutions can be examined in this context. Articles 14, 15, and 21 of the Constitution are particularly relevant. 1. *Equality under Article 14:* Any discriminatory treatment based on gender in prescribing dress codes could be challenged as a violation of the right to equality. 2. *Non-discrimination under Article 15:* Article 15 prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex, or place of birth. If dress codes disproportionately affect one gender, it might be challenged under this article. 3. *Right to Privacy under Article 21:* Article 21 ensures the right to life and personal liberty, and the Supreme Court has interpreted this to include the right to privacy. Imposing specific dress codes could be seen as an intrusion into personal choices and, thus, a violation of the right to privacy. While educational institutions have the right to maintain discipline, any rules imposed must be reasonable, not arbitrary, and should not infringe upon the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution. Balancing individual freedoms with institutional requirements is a delicate task that requires careful consideration within the constitutional framework.
This is exactly my school story. On top of that no earings, no nose pins, no kajal, skirt and socks length was defined too, must wear knee length shorts underneath skirt. But that's how we learned the difference between discipline and partying.
And then came the Burkah brigade in Karnataka, in name of religious freedom demanded allowing whole burkah inside the class😅, tye reason is there are male teachers, peon at school. All This in a hot sunny aweaty😢tropical climate of coastal region . Black colour ones too for extra heat absorption.
Oh this reminded me of what i did when our principal told us to start putting our hair in two plaits. I had very long hair, it reached around hip and i looked very bad in two plaits and it affected my self-esteem and confidence but i still did it. Then one day our senior incharge told us to fold it. I refused so she told me that if i didnt do it, she would punish me. Well that was the end of it, i knew my mother would never let me have a haircut so i cut it in a weird shaggy short haircut on my own at 1 am in the bathroom a day before school. I remember crying, but damn when i walked into the school with open short hair and smiled at her with a sweet good morning, i loved her stunned expression. I kept it short for two years and then corona came and finally i let them grow back. They are long again now :)
I am not even in a convent school still the teachers tell us to do two braids. No kind of hairstyle allowed with the braids, just plain simple braids. The girls with short hair are not allowed to open their hair until it absolutely can't form a pony that too with hairclips is essential. Others with a bob cut must form two pony even if they look horrible. Once i came late to school and thus opened my hair, i had a bob cut then. The teacher came up to me in the assembly and asked if I came to a party or something and it went on for about 5 minutes and I was made to stand out of the line. I have been in this school for 12 years and finally leaving in 2024. SO DAMN HAPPY. For the boys, they are threatened to cut their hair short or the teachers will form their pony or cut their hair themself(this never happened though)

I just said sorry istg i wasn't able to concentrate at all ! And my hands were shaking , thats how we loose our confidence. ...
I'm boy but can totally relate. Been in convent since LKG, they tame you every now and then. Once stopped me beacuse there was some white dirt in my eye, sister said you didn't take bath, I told her to call up my parents and ask, she was low key shocked and just told me to wash face and then go😅. Aise hi nails , hair ke liye bolte hai abhi kaato inko , hamne nahi pta bus kaato. It was way too strict in my school. Guess thats why when i moved to CBSE school, I liked the liberty (though not the bully types children ,both girls and boys were green mango more by nature😢).

This is humiliation for some girls like they get insecure about their looks why can't teachers understand that it's too short and they don't think about how we are feeling all day.

Watching this took me back to my class 9th exams. I had a Hindi teacher just like this who seemed to dislike everyone.
Why can't they understand that we look ugly in that hairstyle. Like yeah obviously we go to school for studies.💀 It's not fair tho
Exactly we go to study there, doesn't matter we do two plaits or one plait, there are many things that should be focused on!!
The hair should just be tied what's the need to plait it how does that affect our studies 💀
Because they need to look at us ugly just just because no boys will see us and we can have no distraction and study this is the explanation they gave ❤🩹😭
We are going to school to study not for fashion no matter it is ugly or not
Dear sister, it is not the matter of ugly....this is the matter of discipline and uniformity......😊
Me: (peacefully walking towards class)
Teacher/ sisters: Girly where r u going n why ur uniform is dirty give ur calendar I'll give u a remark.
Girls have always been judged whether it's their hair, skirt, or nails.
Judged by another woman
No it's not judging, these are rules for school uniform, it takes care of hygiene, smart looks and makes sure students look and dress similar irrespective of differences in cultural and financial backgrounds, so that focus could be on education, personal development, personal hygiene and physical education.
In schools boys and girls go through same standards apart from girls wearing a tunic vs boys wearing pants.
Victim card for no reason. I had to cut my hair short when I was in school too. In fact a lot of dudes had to. Being disciplined is not the same as being judged.

Now finally I am out of that jail and I am studying in a private school
GD Goenka Public School delhi Vasant Kunj
My old convent school was “OLS”in Himachal kullu
It’s full form is ‘Our Lady Of Snow School
I was bullied in that convent school😢
I am so sorry you felt that way
Once happend to me also when I was in second grade
I understand you I'm from Himachal and some of the catholic authorities here are very strict and slutshame and bully girls in schools and colleges. Glad you got out of here it's depressing.
Mate if you thought catholicism is a liberal form of life, then you are wrong @pagalaurat
Actually if you go to a muslim school, you are expected to follow their rules.
They would literally HUMILIATE the girl in front of other students by making them open their hairs and do it again all the while letting their mouth flows rivers of gutter to the girl
They would literally bully tf Out of you JUST cuz you applied a lipbalm cuz ur damn lips crack, but no according to them we do it for attention!
"Your skirt is too short"
"Why aren't your hair's in a braid, this is school not a fashion show"
"Why have you applied lip balm?, Come with me to the principles office"
And we as a naive student do what we see!
Ikr, I'm studying in a convent school and not only me but all of my friends are planning to study abroad because of this. All of us are tired of this. Convent school are no different than a damn prison.

In my school they say to plaid it, and like the good thing is that we don't have to turn it. So yeah in my school we can make a pony if the hair is too short.
Glad my schl is better we get to wear ponytails no matter who long the hair is they r not too strict abt braids until it's open

I also went to convent schl , there were few very strict rules but it wasn't like this , i remember sister once told us girls that look stylish is okay but in a disciplined way your body language, confidence and groomed , ironed uniform is enough you don't need to wear short skirt and have open hair .... 😂
Much similar incident happened with me as well😂😂
Hilarious 😂😂
Ahaha proud of you
And the worst part is, in the era of hair ties why you need those ribbon .. like why??
Convent schools are not less than any jail. I still remember that girl with the client hair and that to short like shoulder length. Her hairs were very thick and she used to take an hour doing her hairs only.
Right
It’s a part of ethnic cleansing. That’s how religion spreads, by eliminating ur culture and daily norms.
I used to have a history teacher and for some unknown reason she keeps humiliating me.
She would passed me the most racists comments and also hit me with an iron ruler 📏
And it went on and on till I started to think of taking my own life.

*I need to point a few things here*
The issue of convent teachers in India prescribing specific dress codes and hairstyles for girls can be perceived as potentially exploitative due to its implications on individual freedoms and rights.
All

Same with me....😢😂😂
