To me, Goku essentially going back to the UI drawing board makes so much sense. Whis even alluded to this earlier in the arc. Goku has spent his entire life battling with emotion and passion, while he may have been able to master the angel version, that doesn't necessarily mean it's what's best suited for him, just like how the thoughtlessness of UI wasn't suited for Vegeta.
Omen was the prelude to something greater so this means down the line we can expect a mastered Saiyan Instinct. Genius imo. I just hope they don't rush the new mastered form.
actually if Goku do reach "new mastered form" i really hope it isn't a hair color changer. I want it to be at least just like Super Saiyan 4.

i know the anime and manga are two different continuities, but it was said that MUI’s punches hurt more cuz he’s not only defending but he’s on offense based on instinct, right? now that he’s mastered that, he can use techniques from MUI in omen while also using his own fighting styles and techniques as well. 🫣 omen seems like a cheat code, because do we really know the difference between omen and MUI?

Why Goku was able to fight Gas only with UI ''Omen''? Simple... because it was NOT just UI Omen:
-Whis stated a few chapters ago that Goku should stop copying his style and develop his own version of UI. Goku in order to be in the Silver-Hair UI state must have a calm and relaxed mind, but Goku (as Whis stated) in unable to stay in that state for a long period of time due to the fact that he is not an ANGEL.
-This is because Goku's nature as a Saiyan, is the opposite of an Angel (grows stronger the angrier he gets) that's why Goku (in order to tap into MUI) has to force his mindset against his own nature and such a technic will never be perfected.
-Gas was severely injured after His battle with Vegeta.
-Remember that Goku did not Perfect UI yet, in the Moro Arc he learnt how to use it at will, but it doesn't mean he perfected it. This is like the OG SSJ, first, Goku had problems to use it at will (Namek) something that he learnt after Yadrat and then he perfected it before fighting Cell.
-The UI that we are seeing right here is not just Omen, is an evolved form that uses the same non-calmed mindset of the Omen version added to Goku's own Saiyan instincts (this is because Omen is only for defense and here is attaking too). In this way Goku is able to exploit his UI in a proper way just like Whis told him to do it. This form could be called Super Saiyan UI (defense of Ui Omen + Saiyan attack).
Or Omen Rebirth.
which also explains why the Gods of destruction couldn't master UI

UI sign is not simply for defense, it lacks attack power because the mind is not calm.
UI sign is only effevtive because Gokus emotions nerf MUI.
This is purely UI sign, only diffetence is that Goku is exploiting his emotions to fuel the strength this form normally lacks.
As for UI silver hair, its far more powerful but only when Goku is calm amd tranquil, which he has stated for multiple chapters he cant calm his heart during this current battle.

Vegeta's Ultra Ego showing is so cool to me. As you said, in the end all vegeta did was kinda tired out Gas but the fact that he kept taking all that damage and kept getting up was hella cool. Can't wait to see that animated/with music

I think its cool, Goku knows he can't keep his emotions fully in check with MUI, so he found a way to link him Saiyan power with his UI power.
Its cool cause it still leaves the door open to Goku actually mastering and upgrading his MUI.
See I've seen many people saying "Saiyan power" but it's more like "Saiyan nature". It's not like he's adding SSJ or Oozaru to UI Sign here. It's him resorting to UI sign because his heart isn't calm, it's incredibly excited as a saiyan. His MUI is dulled cause his hearts racing. His answer was to use sign because his true self was hungry for battle and MUI couldn't properly be used in this state
I think MUI won’t be used again. Goku will push UI Omen past it’s limits. Maybe combining Super Saiyan with it.

He hasn’t. Mastery in the that is used means that he can tap into it at any time. He still hasn’t mastered regular ui (the version that doesn’t require him to transformers) or his own version of the techque that Whis was hinting at.
@@Othorius he only tested it out in an actual fight for the first time this arc, but for me the white haired form should still be more effective against gas, Even when goku fought Moro he was told there was no one who could defeat him from here on out, and he was told that by an angel, so i thought that should still hold true.

Yes exactly. The MUI name is very misleading, and is mostly just bad translation. I have a feeling that Goku getitng this moment of clarity.. He is first getting distracted by Gas getting the upper hand.. But then something causes him to regain that moment of clarity, and we are going to get a little taste of what the REAL MUI was always supposed to be.. I mean.. The talks Wis has given about it, have to mean something. And we have seen from the angels and gods what the REAL UI really is.

I think people are looking at this in a 1 dimensinal, linear progressional way. UI was a technique that Goku was able to reach because of his subconscious need to push past his limits. This form allows his body to subconsciously move on its own without him having to any unnecessary thoughts weigh him down. MUI enhanced this by completely clearing not only thoughts of battle, but all emotions, making him a stoic, fighting machine.
The thing is, this mindset goes against the nature of Saiyans whose power come from the thrill of battle, and more so in line with the likes of angels who are natural nonchalant and indifferent entities, which goes in line with them having strict rules about unnecessary involvement in mortal affairs.
Whis explained in the beginning of the arc to Goku that as of right now, he is simply copying the angels and therefore hinders his usage and growth with the form, so he must find his own variation of ultra instinct. With the fight between gas and Bardock, we were able to see that Bardock won not because of him "clearing his mind" or anything, but because he took advantage of his natural instinct as a Saiyan which is to find thrill in the battle of a strong obstacle in order to grow, which was ultimately what allowed him to find the strength to defeat gas. Goku is now realizing that by adopting the mindset of entities that are completely opposite of his own nature hes essentially hindering or nerfing himself and he's suppressing his true desires for the sake of power which ironically is what is holding him back.
This is quite genius as it gives the technique "ultra instinct" a whole new meaning, as it's not simply emotionless battle instinct, but a technique that is fueled by the true instinct and nature of the user, basically using their natural tendency and desires to boost the user to the peak of their battle potential, hence the name "ultra instinct".
By having experienced the pinnacle of UI in the way of the angles via his silver-haired form, he was able to determine that such a mindset was in fact not in line with his own nature and subsequently puts him one step closer to obtaining that Whis had alluded to at the beginning of the arc, which is an Ultra instinct that is in line with him as Son Goku and as a Saiyan.

Even though vegeta passed out im actually really satisfied with how this turned out. he was buying time for goku to understand his form and even had gas shakingg and frozen up.
the preview made it seem like vegeta got knocked tf out, but at the end of the day vegeta just got burnt out. who knows how hard vegeta would’ve hit him if he didn’t faint. prolly would’ve killed the poor guy.
Yea Gas knew if Vegeta came back that last time he would have surpassed him again and Gas was battle damaged his self from Vegeta's attacks and couldn't take another Vegeta power up. Thats what made it even easier for Goku to do what he did. Vegeta wore him down.

This is by far one of my favorite chapters of the entire arc. Vegeta not once stepping back and driving himself to his limit. Kakarot finally going full circle and coming back to his saiyan roots and style. Hell of an episode!!! Also the artwork was spot on!!!!

He almost beat Granolah until he ran out of energy and he got stronger when he healed that's why he was able to beat up Gas who is much stronger than Granolah right now until again he ran out of energy.

The problem with Omen though as Merus stated is very time limited and drains stamina harder than silver form. That’s why Goku comments that he has not much time but to finish this fast. If Goku solves the stamina problem he would be very OP.

Vegeta needs to evolve his technique to be in the game. Beerus uses destruction powers as well. I've never seen him need to get damaged to get the job done. Ik he's a god but damm He's a natural. I think vegeta's issue with his ultra ego form is that his body gets stronger with damage but his qi doesn't if he's able to continuously strength both his body and qi during battle then he'll be unstopable but till he figures out how to solve the issue of his qi depletion during battle he'll keep on passing out during battle and the solution might be the spirit fission technique

UI Sign is perfect for Goku, not just in enabling him to use his emotions, but also in terms of efficiency. Later Vegeta will learn that he can maximize the qualities of UE with lesser forms as well.

Question 3: I'm really disappointed that Vegeta turned into a punching bad. It would have been great to see him take all that damage and then to turn around and use said damage with a OP version of galic gun or final flash. Maybe even if Gas tried to throw some weapons or blasts at Goku while he was meditating and then to see Vegeta become more aggressive while defending Goku would have been cool to see. So much more could have been done to this imo.

I don’t believe this is ultra instinct sign. Goku was told to find his own way of ultra instinct and he did. Sign is the gateway to MUI and requires his heart to be calm. In the anime when he was in sign, his body was capable to dodge on its own but he had to think about how to hit someone.
In this state, he’s just letting his emotions keep him going. He has everything MUI can do but he’s letting his emotions flow. Vegeta confirms that this is a new form of ultra instinct when he says, “This fighting style is meant to be ultra instinct? Absurd.” It’s a new form. Because as Goku said, he’s using his own power in this form.

I feel this Arc is still going to end up with Granolah vs Gas, I rewatched the manga at the beginning, and Oracle fish only said “the universe’s strongest warrior will soon rise” right around Granolah made his wish, and Whis only paid attention to Granolah. In the chapter where Goku teleported Gas across planets and met with Whis, Oracle fish did not know who Gas was, which may be an indicator that Granolah could potential grow stronger?

Vegetas fight was godly in my opinion and Goku's also was incredible. One thing I want to point out, that nobody noticed, the way Goku was drawn fighting Gas this time round, relentlessly pushing forward like that, and every stance. Goku's ultra instinct is actually accepting his lineage and his father. He looked just like Bardock charging in toward Gas.
I disagree on vegeta's fight. To me, it's just bland; vegeta gets hit then smiles and charges and lands a single hit, then gets hit again and repeat until he just passes out. That's not an entertaining fight at all it's just tedious and predictable and all the more pointless.

Vegeta is the strongest below the natural gods in my opinion and I love how they handled this. His weakness is painfully clear to him even though his Ultra Ego is evolving as he can feel himself fade in and out of consciousness telling Goku to finish it. There is no physical way to defeat Vegeta except knocking him unconscious. Vegeta really played more if not equal part in taking down Gas. It wasn't meant to be because the dialogue Goku would have would differ from Vegeta who would have less mercy. Ultra ego is far from finished and has really shined in this fight and I really believed inspired Goku to also go back to his roots and to throw away with something that puts him in a different lane.

Get the win instead of getting beat up for goku to power up or to fuse. That is super in a nutshell. Goku gets a new power up and saves the day (beerus, Frieza, hit, Jiren, moro) or they fuse (zamasu and broly). I just wish they would change the formula once in a while so super could evolve and be a better story
@@JustinDietzler super is Goku and Vegeta's story but more of a Goku story, dragon ball z was about Goku and Gohan's story, but in the end it mostly came down to Goku, cell was a different scenario and Gohan got his own W. But even in the majin buu saga Gohan got a new form and Goku was still the one to deliver the final blow to kid buu. So while super is definitely Goku and Vegeta's story, it leans more towards the side of it being Goku story with some Vegeta hype being in there. Something that I've personally said is that the only reason why Vegeta is even relevant in super is to give Goku a rival and someone to fuse with, because other than that unlike Gohan Vegeta isn't getting any major villain Ws.

Ultra Ego needs to take damage in order too evolve or get stronger and if it doesn't then Vegeta can't get the full usage out of the transformation?
That seems ok to me we will probably get training arc that will focus on Goku's Mui and Vegeta's Ultra Ego.
Goku's Mui has to be at a calm state of mind or it isn't efficient but UI Sign doesn't need that emotion which makes it more efficient so if I'm right UI Sign > less efficient MUI
MUI > efficient UI Sign
And Ultra Ego can either be stronger than Goku UI/MUI or weaker depending on the amount of damage Vegeta takes but Vegeta can get worn-out from the amount of damage he takes because he hasn't used the transformation as much as Goku has with his UI.
Maybe Vegeta will figure out a way to use Ultra Ego without tiring himself out?
But good on Vegeta in this chapter he was the first person to hit Gas and he had him scared. 👍
Goku's way of using/explanation of UI Sign is great I believe it cleard up some questions I had about the technique.
Hopefully Gronolah gets up soon cause I really like his character and I love all the things Vegeta was talking to him when it came to grudges and revenge when they first fought I think Gronolah and Vegeta could have a great dynamic together since Vegeta understands his emotions (plus I want to see Gronolah kill Elec for his mother).
Elec obviously has control over Gas so I'm excited to see what will happen with those two. 👍
Overall I'll give this chapter a 8.5/10 wish we could've gotten more.
And the "Gronolah Survivor Arc" overall in my opinion is a 8/10 I like what I'm seeing hopefully the anime comes back soon or just adapt the manga instead (with the Shintani artstyle too) cause the aura on Ultra Ego is gonna look amazing!!

why do most people call it MUI(Mastered Ultra Instinct) when it's never been called MUI in the manga and the anime?

The movies (Brolly + Superhero) hasn't really referenced the manga post tourney of power and the manga has never referenced brolly. I kinda like this direction, so many times has dragonball Introduced new forms to get over power creep but this is much better story telling, and it actually makes sense, ui mastered requires complete concentration and is essentially its own fighting style not just a power up, where as ui omen gives goku the benefits of ui (not the full potential benefits obviously) but he is still free to use his emotions to fuel him in the fight something he just can't do in mastered UI. Dunno man I kinda like this haha.

So Goku tried a different approach: he used Ultra Instinct Sign to mess with Gas' emotions. Every time Gas sees Goku with black hair, he is reminded of Bardock. Gas had PTSD flashbacks of Bardock. If Gas only thinks about BARDOCK, he can't focus on the fight against GOKU. That gives Goku an advantage
Not ònly a distraction for some weird reason, Goku surpassed Vegeta, his own mastered ultra instinct as well with omen.
He didn’t go with UI sign. He’s beyond sign. That was literally his door into UI as explained by whis earlier. He’s using a UI form that works best with his mortal body and mind. You gotta remember goku doesn’t need to transform to use UI so it’s like he’s using a balanced technique between base form and angelic form that hasn’t been named yet.

Ooooo. Thanks. I think goku will have to learn how to balance saiyan rage and clamness similar to Hal Jordan in DC comics using green lantern and yellow lantern ring simultaneously. Green and yellow are opposite (will and fear) in DC. It will be interesting if goku takes this path for a better version of his silver haired form because Whis did mention his silver hair form is his last resort in a battle to break his limits. However, that state you need to be clam to fully use 100% of its power. Goku can access that form but cannot seem to use 100% of its effectiveness because of Goku's state of mind. I wonder if he will become clamer or train to do that later or somehow fuse/balance calm and rage and flip flop between silver hair and UI omen (new variant in this chapter).
I like this chapter, the preview made it look like Vegeta's run was pretty short but he had a pretty good go of it! I gotta wonder though, is Gas now trading his life for power? That can't last long...
I can see Gas's new power to be equivalent to Gokus.
The fight will be something similar to awakened Jiren vs MUI.
But I think Granolah will come back and request Goku that he finishes the fight for the sake of his mother. I think Granolah will trade his life for power, will beat Gas but will also die too but Goku will revive him with the dragonballs.
