The .44 lever is just great because of the insane pen, and it can be used on class 3's all the way up to 8. You can make vital shots on bears the .300 just cant do.

2 days ago I was at the big lake in Medved and got a melanistic and a diamond brown bear

I noticed last week that it does seem like lynx and bobcats now spook bears. I thought it was dumb at first but then I realised that blackbears are also known to get chased off by cats and dogs sometimes so maybe it's not that weird. It does seem silly though that they've updated that, but deer and reindeer will still drink and rest in the same zones as bears.
