This is the method I use to finger whistle, and I actually improved it by a milestone, because now, I can finally change the pitch! The area underneath my fingernails was touching my top lip, and the first knuckle of my fingers were touching my bottom lip, which helped a lot to create the triangle shaped hole in my mouth. Once I combined that together, I got a whistle sound, and by moving my tongue a tiny bit forward in my mouth, that made the pitch go higher, and when I moved my tongue a tiny bit backwards, that made the pitch go lower.
@@FamilyNonsense I even made the triangle shaped hole slightly bigger, so when I blow hard, I am able to do my whistle louder and at a much higher pitch, so I bet people cheering loudly in an audience can probably hear me do the whistle!
After a little while of practicing I noticed what I thought was “the trick” was COMPLETELY off. It sounded more quiet & high pitched, rather than a loud & clear whistle. I was very frustrated until I read a comment somewhere where somebody said they were just talking to their friend about how it should work, and they gave it a go. Lo & behold, it worked for them. I gave it a go after reading that comment, and IMMEDIATELY I got it…
You say to push the tongue back but how much? Should the tongue be pointing up, curved back or folded back? Also, what part actually makes the whistle? Is it the space between the tongue and the roof of the mouth or the space between the fingers and the lips? Basically, i still have no idea what happens inside the mouth
@@varghen0 don’t over think the tongue part. It just needs to be pushed back. Once the nails on your middle fingers have slightly went behind your front two teeth, that is far enough. Like I said in the intro, it’s going to take a while to get a sound. HOWEVER this is a very useful trick and it’s worth practicing for
It's my first time trying this but i recommend to the person watching that you don't blow pit air too much or too long because if you do that you will run put of breath and think that you just can't do it but don't give up just follow his instructions and you'll get it🫶 Edit: I got it after 20-30 minutes of practicing thank you for this! And for those who are watching don't skip anything because that would be your first mistake ( i also skipped alot of intructions like this so i don't recommend skipping anything🫶
if any of you are still clicking off, I’d like to tell you that I am not someone with a lot of smart about this, and upon watching the video, a single time I managed to make some whistling noise come out. it is all about practice practice practice after you have the proper form, I will say for me personally it is easier to do it, inhaling than it is exhaling
Got it??? I went to a big thanksgiving meal today (yes, we celebrated on Saturday) and someone was trying to get everyone’s attention. Guess who busted out the whistle for such an occasion?😎
i can do a slightly loud whistle but its certainly as good as you get it, and im just not sure how to amp up the aspect that is making it pierce more, its not airy and its mid tier loudness, but it wouldnt get peoples attention like that would.
i really need help ive been practicing a few weeks now and got a sound out but after that everything went silent, i tried positioning my hands differently and played with how far ive been pishing my tongue but i still cant get it. can you give any tips that might help me?? Edit(and tips for anyone needing)- I FINALLY GOT IT 15 MINUTES AFTER COMMENTING AND I REALISED THE MISTAKE, i first positioned my fingers exactly like you said, the first knuckle just over your teeth which started making noise, but then i fixed my own mistake which was that my lower lip was overlaying on my lower teeth with was allowing air to exit, once i fixed that an extremely loud sound emitted, now im still working on the tuning ad hope to learn more whistling techniques!! 👍👍
I tried in a store because i thought it was funny. My cousin kept on forcing me. I didn’t expect it to work but it was so loud that they temporarily banned me for 2 weeks looking like the workers had a bad day or something 😅. But I got better at doing the whistle constantly. Thank you a lot 😂 For some reason whenever i put my fingers kinda in the mouth where it’s touching my lips.. it hurts a lot
How hard do you have to close your lips around your finger? Do you have to press your tongue into your fingers? And what do you do if like me, you have messed up fingers that leave gaps when you press them together?
@@ChristOnABike05 good questions. You want your lips to seal the space around your fingers. However, with a lot of practice, you won’t even think about how hard. Your fingers will press into your tongue, you might need to experiment with how far when you’re getting started. I don’t think your fingers will be an issue. Just keep practicing. It willl get easier and louder with time
I also learned that it matters how much you push your tongue back. I was doing it then i let go and did it again with less force and realized that i has to push my tongue back more.
i could actually get it loud after 5 minutes, this is 1 minute after ther, so im not that good but if you dont get it first make sure nothing moves in your move, and play around with it and not give up!
