I was an SMU intern/PA during the first season. I worked with Steve Lewis on the remote segments, usually Saturdays. Great memories. The studio at KTLA had a great atmosphere. Wonderful memories. I still have a Solid Gold jacket somewhere, a gift from Bob Banner.

Paramount Television also had done "The Brady Bunch", "Happy Days", "Family Ties", and "Cheers", among other television series. It was during the second season of "The Brady Bunch", 1970-1971, that the Paramount sounder that was used for much of "Solid Gold" had been introduced in a slightly different form. The on-screen Paramount logo had been changed in 1979 and the on-screen logo and sounder were changed in 1987 for the 75th anniversary of Paramount Studios and continued through the 1990s until CBS took over Paramount Television.
