Low ceilings here and echoed thumps that reverberate off my brain .. my only cure for the constant torment above my head is living in a tent or this music. MISS YOU PERRY !! Miss your noise and crazy laughter . ❤.
The undisputed King of Reggae Dub had a massive influence on me as a young man. Yes, it was late at night in the late 70's and I had been smokin' some very potent green. Sydney radio station JJ 1540 AM were well known for playing experimental and avant garde music. That's where I first heard Lee ' Scratch ' Perry. In June 1980, JJ became JJJ 105.7 FM and the music sounded even better. Superlatives cannot describe or do justice to the man and his contribution to music, art and culture. RIP mate
Yeah, "The Dogs Of Babylon", entry point for a large number of young heads. First heard Burning Spear and the Dub Conference albums, Jah Woosh, Mikey Dread etc etc. That music didn't exist in Australia, we didn't have a significant West Indian community or even African, back in the seventies...
I promoted this great song my deviantart, and made direct link here, this is what everyone should do and see and hear RIP Lee Perry Jesus is you're friend and you're happy in heaven bro i know. You were a reggae Golden Age Legend man, can't but still miss ya
Wow even listening to this on rubbish ear phones you get free from City Tour Busses, this sounds amazing. I am still mourning Lee Perry. I believe he wasn't ready to die, and he would have made music into his 90s. Fantastic collaboration with Brian Eno here too. Amazing coming together of Musical minds
The dub work on this track is masterful, a fitting tribute to the true pioneer LSP. Think of the creative energy it took to create this kind of music for the first time with limited resources in 1960s Jamaica.
The art direction meeting Perry: You see my Pet goat? yeh i want that kinda vibe, but mek it in a psychedlic dub stylee Harris & Wiliams: Hold our joint, we got this...
I love this music and the dub mixing. Something seems off with the sound quality on this track though.. It sounds distorted and not in a nice way.. reminds me of how mp3s sounded in the 90s. Given that the rest of the album is better I ask myself whether this is Adrian's test ballon to check if there are people left on the planet who care about sound quality :-)
@@da-p6814 Who knows.. I listened to it some more and the distortion seems to come from one of the effects busses. It sticks out right at the beginning with the horn melody, then continues to varying degrees throughout the track. For me it‘s like fingernails on a chalk board. It seems nobody else is bothered though. 🤓

Amazing. The 2 best producers I know of. Sherwood and Eno. With the wildman Lee Scratch Perry. On on-u records. Perfection.
Rasta take over.

awesome! sound reminds me of SUPERMAX - dig this (track)
Love it
This song and video have replaced the need for narcotics.

Makumba is what I came for! ۰۪۫E۪۫۰
Love it!!!
A fine stereo is mandatory for this track, computer with speakers doesn't translate Eno's mixing.
It's Adrian Sherwood's mix. There's a video somewhere of him at the controls for this one.
The WOW factor… where are my neurones?
On which album is this? I am a fairly newcomer in the Lee Scratch Perry universe.
From the album 'Heavy Rain'
@@OnUSound Thanks for you're work

afro brazilian influences on dub !
Brazilian? The only Brazilian thing I can see here is the far right religious war against the African religions.

I think lee is trying to redeem himself through his newer music. He used to call himself a devil in old songs, but now it seems he has found god
Its working.......💥
You got that wrong mate.
Lee always refers to himself as an avatar of God or God , Himself, chasing the devil or killing Satan.

probably Eno's influence. mistakes as hidden intentions and so on
