The foot is the region of the body distal to the leg that is involved in weight bearing and locomotion. It consists of 28 bones, which can be divided functionally into three groups, referred to as the tarsus, metatarsus and phalanges.
The foot is not only complicated in terms of the number and structure of bones, but also in terms of its joints. These joints enable many movements of the foot that are essential for many functions, such are walking, jumping etc.
In the full version of this tutorial, we will cover the following topics:
Bones of the foot: the foot is comprised of many bones which include the calcaneus, the talus, the cuboid, and three cuneiform bones known as the medial, intermediate, and lateral cuneiform bones. There’s also an navicular bone to be discussed, and the metatarsals, as well as the proximal, medial, and distal phalanges.
Ligaments of the foot: when it comes to the different ligaments, in this tutorial, we will talk about the lateral collateral ligament, the medial collateral ligament, and finally, we’re going to look at the long plantar ligament.

you forgot the 2 sesamoid bones at the head of the 1st metatarsal which are considered important to foot and ankle surgeons.
28 bones in the foot, not 26
