What's baffling to me is the simple question how logistics will work. I mean, it should be immediately apparent: instead of building e.g. 100 km in one line, you could build 10 lines at 10 km length. The maximum distance you would have to go in the first case to get from one end of the city to the other is 100 km, in the second case it's less than 20 km (assuming that the width of the line is less than 1 km). Having no intersections seems like an optimization to traffic, but it's logistically wasteful and must lead either to big jams in the middle of the city or loads of wasted, because rarely traversed space.

If that's what you like. And connect them by super high speed trains. Either way works. I don't know why the line. Thankyou for the concept. This will make cool backgrounds for some new futuristic Extraction Shooter game in the same theme as Spec Ops The Line. Maybe the game can be titled The Line: Survivor. Im not gonna lie, the verticality of the Neom will make a good battleground for scvengers. Maybe the main currency is just, water. Bottled water. Where the furthest part of Neom will give better loot but in order to go tho the furthest, the player need to drink a lot of water, hence needed to choose between fast bottled water looting gameplay, or long play of looking better gear but need a lot of water. Sounds good enough for me

Yeah.. moving millions of tons of materials, earth and water, CUTTING OFF the lifecycle of all the species living in desert (yes, there is a lot of migrating life in desert). In other terms - destroying everything to build nothing. Watch any breakdown of the project by some respectable architect. And me, like an egineer.. man.. when you have such a massive artificial habitat - so many things will go wrong. Just imagine an electrical explosion in any of the main distribution boxes.. a chunk of the city will go down. Air circulation, humidity control, temperature control... What a mess. Bro.. I can imagine some "futuristic way" of solving some stuff.. but we didn't move far from 304 stainless steel yet. Khalifa tower leaking pipes are a good example.

There is a lot in between the outskirts of Moscow and this waste of money in the desert. It's such a bad idea I really can't believe they're doing this. Look at the last mega project on the Arabian peninsula, burj khalifa. Most of it is empty and they have no connection to the sewerage. Every day many trucks have to come to bring all that sh*t away. That city is a gigantic waste of resources for the sake of prestige. It really is a joke.
