I have a Craftsman LTS1500 with is identical to your mower. I recently bought my mower from a deceased estate and the previous owner never used the cutting deck, it was detached. I had huge fuel issues which I resolved by taking off the two bolts either side of the fuel tank, removed the tank, flushed and washed it out and it now runs beautifully, Good job
I have this exactly the same mower I bought used...I had to do the same tune up, except I bought a new China carb online and replaced the fuel filter with the same one he used...mower wouldn't idle smooth but ran good at high speed...turns out it was the filter...for a gravity feed system you need to use the stock style pan cake filter like the one on it in the beginning of the video.....runs great now!
Yep...and it seems to be the norm on every single piece of outdoor power equipment made for the last 30 years. Quick drain attachment is around $10-$15 and eliminates this hassle and mess.
Where the hell is the oil filter on this model? Does it have one? I have looked everywhere online without having to take the entire things apart to find it with no luck?
Yes, that backfiring type of sound is either being lean or dirt in the fuel line, may I suggest you wash out your fuel tank, draining the fuel is good, but as there is an invert tube in the bottom of the tank, rubbish, specs and crap will not drain out
I have this same mower. I just came here to see if they are suppose to have wheels on the front of the mower deck. Mine doesn't and yours doesn't so I guess they don't.

Once I put the new air cleaner on it ran like a top!

That oil drain plug design is criminal

It’s pretty basic! Which has its advantages
Hi Kevin. Could you post part 2? I’m trying to figure out where the oil filter is.
Hello. My engine did not have an oil filter.
Nor does mine apparently. Looked everywhere.
Hey do you know how to replace the clutch cable on one of those mowers?? I have the exact same mower !! Help please!!
How much oil did it take?
I can’t remember exactly. More than one quart. Less than 2
best thing to put own a lawnmower is a turn off value that way gas want stay in bowl
Got one added now!
Make sure you change the oil filter too next time you change the oil!
