Literally every building in the world, every city, every car, every animal. It started as a thought. Our physical reality, is literally a reflection of our thoughts. The reason it's so dangerous listening to vulgar negativity and negative "predictions" is because it changes your thoughts, and puts your attention on things you don't want to create, but something "they" want to create. That's why it's called "programming." I watch UFC, because some of the best fighters are "awake." Like Rose and Tony. They know that the mind runs programs. And the type of program you have, determines the type of reality you experience. Tony and Conor both understand the importance of mental intent, and clarity of purpose. Donald Cerrone doesn't understand this to the same degree, and it is reflected in his erratic performances and fight results. Skill does not overpower an unfocused mindset.
Tony the type of guy to do fake workouts knowing Chael is secretly watching in the corner. Then sneak in the backdoor to continue his workout after he watches Chael follow him out.
I honestly think Tony would be just as successful without all the wackiness in his training. He's that good. However, I think it's the mental edge it gives him why it's totally worth it.
Tony was looking for a sparing partners 3 weeks before the fight of his life. Someone sent him a sparing partner in this box. Tony did not open the box and spar with the guy actualy in the box. that's just tony... who are you people to judge him ?! :-) oO
WELL... We have to note that while Tony's workouts seem a bit wild, he USES what he develops from these workouts in actual fights. NOBODY trains a lot using wing Chun on a dummy. Tony does then uses those techniques in fights. Watch his fight with Pettis where he slaps Pettis' hand down then elbows him like a wing chun dummy...
Exactly this is what makes him such an unorthodox and awkward challenge for his opponents. You see them describe him like this all the time and it's what makes him dangerous. No one else really does what Tony does in fights
That training video is hilarious! During these stressful times, i needed those laughs & watched it 3 times. One of Tony's best weapons is his improvisation. No one around him knows what he's gonna do next!
I think you're right Chael. I think we're seeing his "I'm bored, lets mix it up" work outs. His supplemental workouts. Not to call them gimmicks or throw away stuff. It helps his dynamic/creative side. I question his whole thing of acting like he hasn't sparred and asking the public if they want to be his training partners. It's great to show others he's 'casual' about a KN fight and he's legit loco. "Crazy as a fox" applies. He's a 'student' of the game and you can bet your arse he's training specifically for Khabib. I see a lot of fighters backing KN to win. Way more than are taking Tony in that fight; and they're 100% in their rights. This is one of those that whomever you think wins--you sound correct. However, the longer it takes to happen, the better for Tony in my opinion. I think his study of Khabib is real and thorough, and he's unorthodox and with the right amount of loco to try something different. Something nuanced in transition or "on the way down" because we all know the fights going there--and so does Tony. So the longer this goes the more second nature and reactionary he can make his Khabib-specific strategy.
I think I got a call from the red Cross once saying I had a alot of extra platelets in my blood, and they said they would love it if I donated, because of the healthy amount.

The thing Tony was using in his workout is a plyo jump box. It's mainly used to work on your vertical jumping ability. Some come in multiple pieces that you can stack on top of each other to make it taller
Even though I had already watched it I went and watched it again when uncle Chael told me to. Then he mentioned elbows and knees. I had to go and watch it again.
People don't realize how much mental training can affect performance. Doing recreational, unusual, unfamiliar and challenging stuff, especially when you're having fun doing it, can greatly create new neural networks in the brain and help one be more creative.
The man is obviously a legit bad ass. When it comes to his training methods, they’re about as reliable as the odds of him getting through an interview,/press conference sounding lucid
Whilst this kind of training would not be your primary training for martial arts it is very similar to the training I do for Parkour. Training your explosiveness and athletic agility with vaults and rolls and explosive movement is still useful because that ca be transferred to MMA. A lot of Tonys weird workouts transfer quite well to parkour training, with this kind of training your are focusing on your strength, speed, timing, balance, agility ect. Parkour helps you to train and focus on maximizing your physical potential for each movement. I find I can easily mix my martial arts in with the kind of weird movements you can learn in parkour to generate powerful movements people don't expect if your just coming from a traditional martial arts perspective. Once you train movement to a razor edge you can generate power in unexpected ways from unexpected angles and do things no one would expect. I have for years as a Parkour practitioner and martial artist who loves to just freestyle and practice crazy shit had a lot of respect for Tony Ferguson just from a movement perspective alone. He clearly focuses on movement in a way a lot of fighters don't.
tony is a great guy he knows what you can and cannot do with anything possibly. He is very efficient look at dominik reyez but reyez is just the tip of the iceberg.Reyez is stiff. If you are a fighter you incorporate your fight knowledge to almost every single daily task not in a cliche way but in a way how tony does things. You just dont leave it at the gym and the octagon. You chop woods to get great in the cage, you carry water and practice golf before your fight so you can make your wrist control good. You catch chickens. You climb trees. You walk in ropes. You slackline for balance. You work in a farm like cerrone. You try to cook in a wok to improve your wrist and forearm. You try to knit sweaters. You try darts. You try to walk backwards for a mile. You try soccer basketball and pingpong. You try to clean windows and see how you can use that to your fights. look at me now im an mma coach. tony thinks of ways when not in gym or sparring and he thinks the most and works the most when he is not fighting. He makes adjustments right on the spot without going to the gym or sparring the next day. Other fighters think that they will apply new things only in the gym or when sparring or in training sessions. He thinks the most and works the most when he is not in the gym or when sparring. MMA is multidisciplinary in many ways.
I remember seeing Eddie Bravo video Tony building a house to train in. There was a room with a pull up bar and the whole wall was made up for wooden beams to hit wing chun style. I don’t know many fighters who build their own gym for fight camp. He apparently does this whenever he heads up to Big Bear. He’s not been a normal dude for quite some time now.
What's the " right way" where talking about moving your body and exercising this can be done in number of different ways other then hitting a punching bag or jumping rope. Our dojo had us lifting eachother and carrying people across the room then leering them down picking them back up and doing it all over again. Sparring was going back and forward until the other person says ok that's enough.
