Im not sure about this "Holding back" statement Mariah. However..I will say I totally agree with the "Prefer to see HER SOLO". (love Dave and all he is, but..), Honestly I am confused by this entire thing, seemed to be ALOT of effort and expense put out for a "Side Project". But hey, its her and his decision and nobody else's. I'm glad they did it, Success or not, (looks like the latter from Sales and Views) but, Its their life and they can damn well live it anyway THEY CHOOSE! That being said, she did speak recently of a "Solo Album" in the works, so cant wait to hear that, and Im sure Dave will add his special touches where needed. Personally I wish they could figure out a way to Bring the "PhoeniX" Concert to life, and add some of these songs. In a LS once she was asked "What are your future Goals" and from what I remember she said, To be able to have enough Originals to do a show with only MY Music. Well...she's there! and More.... My Prayers - Bring PhoeniX to the Stage!! The Virtual Show was Great (her BEST work to Date in my mind) , But, It was shot LIVE, But...Not Live. IF you know what I mean. I would pay dearly to see that show LIVE and now that we can, what's the Problem? I say..Lezzzzzgoooooo....
She had her moments to shine like in "love you still", but holding back is what this collab is all about. It is about shining together, not a singout (we all know who would win this, and they certainly know, too). But even talking about her music it is a give and take from both of them. He has supported her immensely to get to the point of her carreer where she is now. So it is fair to give him room to shine, too. God bless both of them.
Morissette has always outshined since her start. Its just that stupid judges didn't give her a winning ticket. Same reason that people on a level saw that, gave her opportunity and boy did she took it! The tracks on FTS (From The Sea) were written as a duet. It turned out great because it is designed to be that way. IMHO, just freaking give us a similar digital concert (like OOCCFM said), we'll worry about airline tickets and hotel accommodations, lol. Peace! Phoenix keep soaring!
Fans may somehow interpret this as Mori holding back for Dave's sake but we don't know what's behind all this scenes so saying this might be misleading unless she really says so. As long as she's happy in her music, I'm happy for her. I have high hopes for Mori so let's wait for God's plan for her.
I kinda prefer that she hold back a little bit coz when she goes all out, she usually overdarkens her voice, tries to sound very big, and "eats" her words.
I agree, especially in the forth octave and when you do it before the break in your voice it doesn't sound good, it's incoherent. Over your break it's more natural to darken, it's easier as the voice doesn't strain and it's very little effort, especially with a deep breathing that lowers the voice box and makes the tone deeper and fuller. But when you sing like that the tounge can’t be lazy, it must be very active to articulate the brighter vowels like ee and ay. I think her tounge sometimes is too lazy there. I don't know if she's tongue tied or if it's just a habit. Perrie Edwards has a similar thing going on and it's even harder to understand her when singing.
@@ArTdEcO008 This issue of "overdarkening" the voice is a maturity issue. When you're young like Morissette, there is a tendency to manufacture the tone of your voice, such as trying to sound darker, or trying to manufacture depth - usually by lowering the larynx way too often. She was quite guilty of this "overdarkening" during her younger days, but sometime after 2021, when she reached 25 years old, her tone became more mature, having that natural depth along with the brightness (i.e. "chiaroscuro"). She's an informally trained vocalist, so, from time to time, she will revert back to bad habits, but for the most part, since 2021, her tonal quality has become more natural. Again, this issue is mainly a maturity issue. As this girl reaches her vocal prime (sometime around her early 30s to late 30s), these issues will practically be nonexistent, as evidenced by the natural darkening of her voice. This issue of achieving "chiaroscuro" (i.e. having a natural blend of bright and dark to your tone, and not artificially manufactured) is a big focus in operatic singing. It is very well known in the operatic singing world that only maturity, or the maturation of the vocal apparatus, will solve this issue.
@@N2RAreacts It's a matter of maturation. When your voice is not yet fully mature, a singer tends to artificially manufacture depth in their tone. As the singer matures, the natural depth of the voice will emerge. We have already seen the natural depth of Morissette's voice gradually emerge sometime around 2021, and onwards. Her voice is naturally darkening now, which is what I expected from a voice like hers. She has great fundamentals.
Haven't found you recently until now. Still can't get enough of Morissette?😅😂 Always stay tuned for more news to help you make yourself more jealous😅😅😅
