I was a corner boy treble when we performed this. The cathedral organ was being rebuilt which accounts for the whole service being accompanied. The standard of musicianship is high partly because of Conrad Eden's austere discipline, and partly his love of Stanford, Wood and Wesley.

This is a beautiful service, and an amazingly good quality recording.

Fantastic recording - the choir sounds so close it almost feels like sitting in the quire near them. It's a nice change to hear evensong a cappella.

Excellent! Stanford in F is hugely neglected, and the Armes responses, the fauxbourdon to the office hymn and the St Audries chant are all really good to hear. Quite a young sound, from the boys, though very classy also.
