You should start to make "go to sleep" video's for the insomnia people. haha Very soothing voice brother! And ofcourse your tips are brilliant. Thanks!
Proper slappys are done with your feet on the bolts. Also, try keeping your arms down when doing tricks. That’s probably one of the causes of your lower back pain.
I also have been battling lower back herniated disc for about a year and a half. It sucks so much. Best of luck. Definitely look into mckenzie method physical therapy.
Hopefully your back starts to feel better soon so you're able to skate at your preferred pace. In the meantime, thank you for making this kind of tutorial for mere mortals, like me!
Hey man, exact same problem with my back! Pelvic disk has trouble but just started seeing a chiropractor too. Had a bit of time off skating but hopefully get back at it soon
I was just trying to learn these a couple weeks ago. Kept locking into feeble and stopping, but now I realize it's because I wasn't shifting my weight properly.
Great 👍 video! It definitely taught me what to do. It's like snowboarding💡. Take your time with your back and keep up with your recovery excercises. I know this from experience .
Where I'm from, we don't have those rounded curbs, they're rectangular and granite and usually chipped so I lift my weight off my board, lift my front truck and 50-50 up the curb
Bro. I am 34 and I recently started having trouble out of my lumbar vertebrae too! I hate it cuz it does seem to come and go. I also have trouble out of my hip flexors I guess is what that is. Either way when I do a ton of flip tricks in a few days time it will be really sore when I raise my thigh up to do things like put my pants on or tie my shoes. Tbh I am starting to think the two are related because it seems like when one is bothering me the other will. Ofc I am doing much better than I was when I first started skating again back in august but still. I wish I knew how to solve the problem entirely
This may be a stupid question. I want to get into grinds on the street, but I often just stop myself. It's like my trucks grab onto a gritty surface, rather than sliding over it. Do I need to prep the curb? Or wax it or something? EDIT: I don't think I see wax in this video.
You’ll almost always need wax on everything in the streets, even sometimes on pure metal. I waxed this curb too. Especially concrete. Lots of it, might even take a couple days to sink into the concrete fully
Dude get well, chronic pain can be a long battle. Wishing you the best. It's easier for me to hit it on small curbs, parking blocks freak me out mentally always worried I'll overslap.
I can’t ever seem to do these! :(I keep thinking the curb is too high but it’s probably just me not committing and not going fast enough. I wanna learn these so badly though
Me as a skater Im a weirdo. I completely suck at ollie's to the point where I don't try them anymore. I'm a master of all things shuvit and pressure flip related so I never got into grinds cause I can't Ollie. I just now discovered slappy grinds and I'ma master them to add them to my no Ollie skate style
I saw some people on Instagram the other day get into an argument because one person said that you go much further on slappy 50s if you lock in heel/toe side instead of crosslocking them. Not sure if it holds any merit bc ive never done a slappy but worth experimenting with id say
@@josharroyo6159 I've experienced my furthest slappys with cross lock and it just slid. I'm pretty sure the butter factor of the curb would be the determining factor, if its crusty then a cross lock may cause more friction
I don’t judge anyone’s abilities, everyone’s on a different path with different motives, and much different stories. Skateboarding is fun and love, first and foremost.
Your teaching method of carving on the edge is genius for learning slappies. Best tutorial channel.
I watched a dozen slappy tutorials. But THIS video got me doing the trick perfectly in less than 10 minutes. Do EVERYTHING he says.

Sorry to hear that, hope you get well soon!
i really needed this man. Get well soon!
I want to learn this one so badly! Never tried it before. Thanks for the great tutorial and welcome back!
Love the slow mo with the voice over. Also the concrete x grass example made everything click for me.

Thanks, always very helpful and easy understood
Thanks for the tutorial. You need to wax the curve for that, right? Did you?
Yep lots of wax
This is a great video. I hope that your back is feeling better. Have you tried any Yoga for it?
Good to hear you are on the mend!
I just built a wheel stop for stating and had success today. Got on top day one. Just need to stay w it
wish for a speedy recovery man
Wish you get better soon, bro. do some restorative yoga and exercises to help the healing. Salud!
Awesome! This was just what I needed. I can slappy nose slide but struggling with the 5050.
Struggling with getting the back wheel onto the curb, any tips ?
That's a pretty roughed up curb too!
Heartbroken to hear about the discs jeez. You are too good. Stay low

Hope you have a great day.
I'm taking it to the streets.

For me the hardest bit is getting out once I've reached the end. Could you give me some tips in more detail?
Heal up! Love slappys
Can you make a how to merlin twist, or front foot impossible ?
I can’t ever seem to do these! :(I keep thinking the curb is too high but it’s probably just me not committing and not going fast enough. I wanna learn these so badly though

Feel better man
Terima Kasih!
🤙🤙
sheesh get well soon
great explanation. now i hope i can excute
I can slappy 50-50 but I can only hold them for like 2-3 seconds. Any tips for holding them longer?
Speed. I probably never did anything longer than 3 seconds too, becauce we dont have painted curbs in czech
@@komoonkh lol I live in Finland and the winter destroys the curbs in here
