It is June 15.2024 and watching this again. The intro just cracks me up and i LMFAO. JT, ALL your archive will be golden one day! Yes, me going to say it: Now that you have that new shop the 'relatives' will be coming out of the woodwork like that EX after you've won the lottery!!! Cheers!
I spent a many hours in the cab of a 1500 MF and in the seat of a165 1100 1130 and a 750 combine during my high school years and then 15 yrs as a MF mechanic so this video brought some memories back
I have a 7020, that I bought in Montana 3 years ago and had it shipped to Denmark. And like you said the cab is not that fantastic, but for a few hours it is okay. It is hard t shift on the go, except hi and low which is synchronised. Mine is a very good starter in cold wheather, which I think is unusual for the 404 engine. But it does what I need, Best wishes, Jens Andersen, Denmark
Opening statement was so Accurate and Honest. Been There, Experienced That. The rest of the video was Fun and Informative. Good Old RUclips hasn't been notifying me on your New Videos so I'm spending this cold Saturday Morning catching up. Thanks for a Great Morning JT.👍🚜🇺🇸
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 we liked the diesel Perkins in england biggest tractor available to us was a 1205 articulated although my brothers friend has a 1405 I think but probably an import
Very informative, I am glad we had a White 4-150 . I had never seen the pumps drive arrangement on an 1805 ,looks like an after thought and the fuel tank positioning is odd !!! .The JD seems slapped together and the cab is terrible.
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 The cabs were a bit noisy but the later series ie 4-175 ,4-210, 4-225 ,4-270 were better I believe. The good thing about White's were the in line drive ie no drop box and they rode smooth imo .We liked the 3208 and never had an issue with it but never ran it full throttle I think 2800 rpm all day is to much for an engine that size . Thanks for your videos .
I've seen a lot of MF 4x4s parked in the weeds. Not so many 7520s. A couple of other things to consider: 1. Parts availability - JD can't be beat for this, but you'll certainly pay for them! 2. Resale - pick your poison, dealer lot, individual, farm auction etc, the Deere will always bring more than the MF. Honest review on all of your points.
What you say, JD only wins 2, MF cleans up the rest. In my long working life, I have worked on both makes as a mechanic & an operator, JD newer models, MF since 64, JD wins hands down with cabs from early 80's, MF's Perkins engines & hydraulics ran rings round JD's, same with the transmission, unless you had cvt JD gearbox, early ones could be a nightmare, but apart from Fendt's, JD were ahead among others that were slow to take cvt up, JD'S are now miles in front of all others. I am speaking from my country of the UK.
I was comparing a 7520 to a 1805. apples to apples. soundgard cabs are great, but a 7520 didn’t have one. CVT transmissions are great. but a 7520 nor an 1805 had one. I was trying to be partial to two 70’s junk yard tractors I owned and loved.
As an ex farmer my two cents worth , I am in Australia and believe me tractors work hard , JD sound guard cabs too many reflections at night and that ridiculous door seal in front and the filter inside cab wtf !!! tractors ok otherwise. IHC 86 series, excellent cabs ,self purging filter at back cleans itself when door shuts ,good engines. MF 80s tractors, mostly weak back ends and quality fit and finish problems, MF was broke at that time and it showed .Ford tractors of the 80s very well made and tough.
The perfect tractor doesn't exist. Too many variables, even on the same farm. Then you throw people into the mix--nothing sensible will be accepted 🤣 The more money you spend, the closer you get and the more you excavate the world the less variables you have to contend with. Look how we've done as humanity with that so far 🤓 I appreciate you sharing your life with us and your (mis)adventures making more out of less. 😀

Right on! I appreciate that!
That shop is like winning the lottery…
Everyone will want a piece 😆

How much did it cost you to have it shipped to from Montana to Denmark ?
Noticed your a pacer,,thinking on yer feet. I used to do the same, but at 62,ive learned to sit, crack a beer, and gather everything in.
I appreciate your honest review. That's a damn sharp 1805!

Glad you enjoyed!
👌 Good information 👍
Really interesting!
Kinze did a Detroit repower for the 531s
Love to see you get a JD 6030
I’d love to see that too 😉
Good info for when I buy my tractor. And
Put Fluffy inside!!!!
Get an 850 Versatile and you’ll forget about the other tractors. We’ve had a 7520, 1805, 4386. Still have the D145, 850, and the 875.
Fluffys definitely the star of the show
She should have a whole show dedicated to her
I am definitely the co-star when she’s in the video 😉

Any idea on the production numbers for both? Seems the JD is more common at the time. My cousin owned a MF dealership in Iowa. Always cool equipment.
I’m not for sure on that. Seems like the Massey way in the 4k ish range, but I do not know on big John.
ide take the massey
I do love that Massey 😉

I’ve always liked those whites. Seems like the white is a little shorter too, you don’t need a 14’ tall door to get one inside

Deere can't be beat for parts availability? Is that why my 17 location mega Deere dealer has to order everything I call in and ask for?
JD hydraulics have always been good.
Steiger and versatile both had 300+ hp tractors
I love fluffy
I have 6 2cly John Deere an 1100 Massey Ferguson a 4030 and a 4430 John Deere
Big budd is being made again

Ok but say it’s the end of the world and you could only pick one of these tractors to get away from the hostiles…
Tough call!
Let me ponder that one 😉
The one that starts!
1805 always starts.. and it’ll go faster than it is safe to drive 😆
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 well that is honest with out saying anything specific! JT for congress!😆
